Day 16: The Risen King and His Witnesses
I. JESUS IS TRULY ALIVE (Luke 24:1–12, 36–43)
Jesus’ resurrection was not symbolic—it was real and physical
The risen Jesus proved that He is victorious over:
* Sin
* Death
* Every spiritual power
We do not follow a dead teacher, but a living King
Jesus then helps His followers understand that this was always God’s plan.
II. THE CROSS AND RESURRECTION WERE ALWAYS THE PLAN (Luke 24:25–27)
His suffering and resurrection were not a failure or backup plan. They were the fulfillment of God’s redemptive story.
But the resurrection was not the end of the mission—it was the beginning.
III. JESUS SENDS HIS PEOPLE IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (Luke 24:47–49; Acts 1:8)
But He does not send them alone. He promises the Holy Spirit:
* Power
* Boldness
* Authority to be witnesses
God’s presence would no longer be limited to one place—His Spirit would now live in His people
Many people admire Jesus but have never fully trusted Him as the risen King
Others know the truth of the resurrection but live without boldness or expectancy
The resurrection reminds us: Jesus is alive, Hope is real. The Gospel still has power to save and transform lives.
The question is not:
“Did Jesus rise again?” but “Am I living like He truly is alive?”
