“Hospitality and Cooking with Love: A Retreat- Workshop for the Hands that Welcome, Nurture, and Feed God’s People”

The Malaybalay Jesuit Retreat House (MJRH) gathered for a grace-filled retreat-workshop, where we were invited not only to grow in knowledge and technique, but to renew our spirit of service and our sense of mission.

This workshop reminds us that to serve with the heart is to go beyond simply preparing meals—it is to mindfully offer healthy, nourishing food that sustains the body, comforts the soul, and reflects genuine care for our retreatants. Every ingredient prepared, every dish served, becomes an expression of love, compassion, and reverence for those we are called to serve.

We are deeply grateful to Ms. Michelle E. Tapia for being our guide and facilitator, for generously sharing her expertise, and for inspiring us to see cooking and hospitality as a form of prayer and service.

May all that we have learned take root in our daily work, so that in every meal we prepare and in every guest we welcome, we may continue to serve with love, humility, and the quiet presence of God.

In this time when hazards and other dangers may arise, it is essential to be prepared and knowledgeable about first aid.

The Malaybalay Jesuit Retreat House is truly blessed to have the opportunity to learn essential first aid skills for emergencies. This knowledge is highly valuable not only for the staff of MJRH, but also for their families and loved ones, especially in situations where immediate response is needed.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sir Steven Gary Manuel and Sir Ed Stephen Espartero from the Malaybalay City Health Office for generously sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise in delivering a comprehensive lecture on first aid.

Easter Vigil Mass ✨

Our Lord Jesus Christ is risen from the dead! He is the Light of the World who conquers the darkness of sin and death.

May this sacred night ignite our faith once more, reminding us that just as Christ has risen, we too are called to rise from our pains, problems, sorrows, guilt, fears, and sinfulness into a new life filled with hope, grace, and light.

Alleluia! He is truly risen! 🙏

𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐲: Veneration of the Cross

From a symbol of shame, guilt, and sin, the Cross becomes the greatest sign of love. Through His suffering and death, our Lord Jesus Christ reconciled God and humanity, bringing us salvation.

Today, we are invited to look at our own wounds, failures, and burdens, not as ends, but as beginnings. In Christ, they can be transformed into moments of grace, growth, forgiveness, and love.

Come, let us venerate the Cross, not only with our lips, but with hearts open to be changed.

Holy Thursday Liturgy: Mass of the Lord's Last Supper and Washing of Feet.

By washing His disciples' feet, Jesus provided a profound example of how we can deepen our expression of love. He invites us to extend this love through humble service; reaching out specifically to those in the greatest need, those on the peripheries, and the marginalized members of our society
