The before and after of our church here in Poblacion Malapatan.

BEFORE: For years, the sanctuary of the Malapatan Central Seventh-day Adventist Church stood tall as our spiritual home—a sacred place of worship, fellowship, prayer, and warmth for all the brethren.

AFTER: Following the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake that shook Malapatan, Sarangani, our beloved church building collapsed. Seeing our sanctuary in ruins breaks our hearts, but it serves as a powerful reminder: The church is NOT the building. The church is the PEOPLE.Though the walls have fallen and the structure is gone, our faith remains unshaken. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.

Following a destructive 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Southern Mindanao, Adventist churches, schools, and communities are assessing damages and beginning recovery efforts. Church leaders and ADRA teams are on the ground, while members unite in prayer, service, and hope amid the challenges.

Following the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Sarangani, we extend our deepest gratitude to the SDA Alabel 1 District, under the leadership of Pastor Glen Diama, for providing much-needed rice, noodles, and drinking water to our community. We also express our sincere appreciation to ACD Advent Creative Design for their generous contribution of sardines. These essential relief goods have brought immense comfort and comfort to the brethren of Malapatan Central Seventh-day Adventist Church during this challenging period of recovery. Thank you for answering the call to serve and for demonstrating the love of Christ when it was needed most.
