This decision was made in order to give way and prioritize the already scheduled and planned conventions within our respective parishes and the vicariate. In addition, we also take into consideration the current energy situation being experienced in our areas, which may affect the preparation, logistics, and overall conduct of the event.

Furthermore, we aim to hold the convention at a more suitable time when altar servers are more available and active, particularly outside of the current vacation period.

We would like to emphasize that this is not a cancellation. The convention will still take place within this year, and we remain committed to gathering once again for this meaningful event.

Further details regarding the new schedule will be announced soon.

MINISTRY NEWS: 22 NEW ASPIRANTS PRESENTED TO THE MINISTRY OF ALTAR SERVERS

MALALAG โ€” The Ministry of Altar Servers formally presented 22 newly accepted aspirants during the Regular General Meeting (RGM) held at the parish.

The presentation was led by Bro. Justine Camaรฑan, Vice President of the Ministry, who introduced each aspirant before the members and leaders. This symbolic act marked the official start of their journey toward becoming full-fledged altar servers.

Following the presentation, the aspirants attended an Orientation on the Ministry of Altar Servers, with Bro. Bien Louisse Llanes, Moderator of the Ministry, serving as the resource speaker. In his talk, he emphasized the importance of attending all activities prepared for their formation, including the Latin for Altar Servers class, the formation seminars on Sacraments, Liturgy, and Mass, and the Altar Service Practices.

Aspirants were informed that they must take the Final Altar Service Examination, which constitutes 40% of their overall grade. In addition, they must master the altar serviceโ€”also weighted at 40%โ€”and consistently attend Sunday Masses during their six-month Formation and Training period, which accounts for the remaining 20% of their grade.

The event concluded with words of encouragement from the ministry leadership, reminding the aspirants that altar service is both a privilege and a calling that requires discipline, dedication, and love for God.

MINISTRY NEWS: 22 APPLICANTS ASSESSED FOR ALTAR SERVERS MINISTRY

MALALAG โ€” In a hopeful and spirit-filled step, 22 young applicants took part in the interview and assessment conducted by the Ministry of Altar Servers โ€“ STAP Malalag. This marked the beginning of their journey toward serving at the altar.

The activity was led by Bro. Bien Louisse Llanes, the Moderator of the ministry, together with the members of the Council. The interview and assessment aimed to get to know each applicantโ€™s spiritual disposition, knowledge, and sincere desire to serve the Church.

Those who successfully passed this stage will be recognized as aspirants and will undergo a six-month Aspirancy Formation and Training Program, headed by Bro. Justine Camaรฑan, the Vice President of the ministry. The program is designed to prepare them spiritually, morally, and liturgically for their future role as altar servers.

Through this formation process, the ministry continues its mission of shaping young individuals who are committed, faithful, and ready to serve the Lord. It is a sign of a vibrant and growing Church, where the youth take an active part in the life and mission of the parish.
