THE OFFICIAL COAT OF ARMS OF THE
MINISTRY OF ALTAR SERVERS - DSPIC
The Holy Eucharist
The Real Presence of Our Lord, placed atop of other figures โ acts as our profession of Christโs Kingship and supreme dominion over us, His servants; and that He, being the Word incarnate in Flesh, is the centre and perfection of all creation.
Stands on the summit โ the august Sacrifice of the Mass is the highest form of prayer, the supreme act of worship, the greatest act in living the virtue of religion.
The Marian Monogram
In Latin, Auspice Maria, meaning โunder the protection of Mary,โ โ signifies our trust in the Blessed Virginโs maternal care and patronage; arrayed in gold for she is the first recipient of the fruit of Christโs salvific actionโher Immaculate Conception.
The Crown
We firmly hold that our faith, lived by the way we serve, will reach its fullness on the practice of virtue as embodied by the golden crown, a sign of absolute victory of Our Lady.
As Pueblo amante de Maria, this crown is a remembrance of two adored experiences related on our devotion to her: first, the exceptional honour of a Canonical Coronation granted to our Patroness, La Inmaculada Concepcion de Malabon, through the bull Cum nos sollicito; also, the reality that her Immaculate Conception is the masterpiece of the Blessed Trinity and it was Christ Who first crowned her as the Immaculate Queen of Heaven and Earth. Her notable virtues made her worthy to be the Mediatrix and Dispenser of Godโs grace.
Doce Estrellas
Representing the Twelve Apostles of the New Testament, the Twelve Tribes of the Old Testament, and the band of the Saints, of which we have hoped to be part of someday as fruit of our wholehearted service.
Sol y Luna
Mary as the Ark of the New Covenant "is clothed with the sun," the grace of God, and "the moon under her feet" for she is above all creatures being chosen as the Mother of God filled with the Holy Spirit.
The Moon borrows its light from the Sun, as Christ, the Sun of Justice, shares His lightโ His graces to us in our pursuit to holiness.
The Cerulean Blue
The representation of the Cerulean Privilege granted to the Hispanic colonies. In the celebration of the Fifth Centenary of the Arrival of Catholicism in the Philippines, we express our deep gratitude to our Spanish root in the faithโthey, by Divine Providence, are the first to evangelize us.
The Palm
Symbol of martyrdom as well as honour and dignity of being one of the Elect. As we willfully share in the Passion of the Lordโdying to self and fervour in Godโs service, we, too, shall share in His glory.
Our patron and model, St. Tarcisius, at his young age received the palm of martyrdom as Protector of the Hidden Jesus, now beholds the Lord face-to-face in His glory and majesty. Our heart is one with him in living the devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament.
The Ruby Red
Signifying not only blood, fire, and love, but also valor and courage of them who chose to follow the painful way to Calvary trod by Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Strength of Martyrs.
Cruz de Guia y Candeleros
The Cross is the symbol of our faith and the instrument of our salvation. We serve Christ the King under the royal banner of the Cross.
Our Lord is the Light of the World and we share also in this light. In the Liturgy, candles represent faith, hope, and charity. Placed side-by-side of the Cross recalls two things: the joy of the persons present in the humble stable of Bethlehem namely St. Joseph and our Blessed Lady; and the courage of our Sorrowful Mother and St. John the Beloved standing at the foot of the Crossโexemplars of true servants and followers of the Lord.
The Incense
Symbol of sacrifice, the very nature of the Holy Mass, and of the intercessory prayers of the Communion of Saints. We, too, are called to offer our whole-being in life in the service of God, the Catholic Church, and His people.
The Shield
The strong defense against the enemies of our soul. Being part of the Church Militant, this represents our steadfastness as men of God in service and sacrifice for His honour and glory. As knights, our only Lord and King is Jesus Christ and our only Lady and Queen is the Immaculate Virgin Mary.
Our Motto, โWE ARE CALLED TO SERVEโ
This is our battle cry for it is meritorious to serve rather than to be served following the example of Our Lord, the Blessed Lady, St. Tarcisius, and the whole court of Angels and Saints. To serve is to seek holiness, to imitate the Saints, to become like Christ. In humble service, we reign with them. In this same commitment, we long to live and die.
