“If everything belongs to God… then who truly owns your heart?”
During today’s mass, we were reminded that worship is more than singing songs; it is living your life in service to the One who created us.
As we sang ‘All Will Praise’, we remembered that everything we have, from our breaths, to our voices, to our gifts, are meant to glorify the Lord. The song also reflected our purpose as a choir. We have now officially started our rehearsals for the upcoming San Exequiel Moreno Parish (SEMP) Fiesta. We pray that each rehearsal is a new offering to the Lord and every note we sing is for Him alone.
Today also marked a special celebration for Grandparents’ Day. God, we thank you for our Grandparents, who are the foundation of wisdom and faith, and who love us unconditionally. We pray for their continued health and joy and for an abundance of your grace and blessing.
One question from Father’s homily stayed with us, “Who owns you?” in tagalog “Sinong nagmamay-ari sayo?”
We are sure most would answer “my partner” or “my family”. They are all gifts from the Lord, but the answer should be the Lord. We belong to Him first before anyone.
Father also reminded us that all these worldly things help to put us in the right place, but they should never be the reason we stop loving God.
We are also blessed to see that 39 of our 46 choir members attended rehearsal. Thank you for the commitment, joy, and love you put into your service.
We don’t just sing because we have voices. We sing because our hearts belong to God. 🤍🎶
