PENTECOST 2026 :
Come Holy spirit
After the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the apostles were afraid and hiding in a room. Even though Jesus had already risen, they still felt weak, confused, and uncertain about their mission. But before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He promised that the Holy Spirit would come upon them.
Fifty days after Easter, while the apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary were gathered together in prayer, a strong wind suddenly filled the house, and tongues of fire rested upon each of them. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in different languages so people from many nations could understand them.
On that very day, Saint Peter courageously preached about Jesus Christ, and around 3,000 people were baptized. This event became known as Pentecost — the birthday of the Church.
The Coming of the Holy Spirit
“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.” Acts of the Apostles 2:4
Jesus’ Promise
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.”
Acts of the Apostles 1:8
The Gift of Peace
“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
Gospel of John 20:21
Fruits of the Holy Spirit
“Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness...”
Epistle to the Galatians 5:22
In Catholic teaching, Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit is still alive and working in the Church today. The same Spirit who strengthened the apostles also strengthens us through prayer, the Sacraments, and daily faith.
Pentecost teaches us:
* God can transform fear into courage.
* The Holy Spirit gives wisdom, strength, and guidance.
* We are called to share Christ’s love with others.
* The Church continues its mission through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Even when we feel weak, alone, or lost, the Holy Spirit continues to renew hearts, heal wounds, and lead people closer to God.
🙏 Come, Holy Spirit, Fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth. Amen.
May the fire of the Holy Spirit strengthen your faith, renew your heart, and guide you always.
