God called Christmas as an abomination
The Bible clearly tells us that pagan festivals are an abomination to God and these include Christmas. We obviously read:

“When the Lord your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ YOU SHALL NOT WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD IN THAT WAY; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods. Whatever I command you, BE CAREFUL TO OBSERVE IT; you shall not add to it nor take away from it” (Deuteronomy 12:29-32).

There is no command to celebrate the birth of Christ in the Bible. There is not one word in the Bible about Jesus Christ being born on December 25. According to Holy Scriptures, the most likely date would be in September, as many scholars concede. No verse in the Bible commands us to exchange gifts among ourselves on December 25. The wise men did not exchange gifts among themselves, but they gave gifts to Christ (Matt. 2:11).

Some sincere Christians will say, “But we have Christianized this day for Christ. It is no longer a pagan celebration to the Roman god Saturn.” How can you Christianize a pagan day? Can you reform the Devil? Can we use heathen customs in the worship of Jehovah? What does the Bible say about this practice?

Does God exist? Is there evidence for the existence of God?

Answer: The existence of God cannot be proved or disproved. The Bible says that we must accept by faith the fact that God exists: “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). If God so desired, He could simply appear and prove to the whole world that He exists. But if He did that, there would be no need for faith. “Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed’” (John 20:29).

That does not mean, however, that there is no evidence of God’s existence. The Bible states, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world” (Psalm 19:1-4). Looking at the stars, understanding the vastness of the universe, observing the wonders of nature, seeing the beauty of a sunset—all of these things point to a Creator God. If these were not enough, there is also evidence of God in our own hearts. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us, “…He has also set eternity in the hearts of men.” Deep within us is the recognition that there is something beyond this life and someone beyond this world. We can deny this knowledge intellectually, but God’s presence in us and all around us is still obvious. Despite this, the Bible warns that some will still deny God’s existence: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1). Since the vast majority of people throughout history, in all cultures, in all civilizations, and on all continents believe in the existence of some kind of God, there must be something (or someone) causing this belief.

In addition to the biblical arguments for God’s existence, there are logical arguments. First, there is the ontological argument. The most popular form of the ontological argument uses the concept of God to prove God’s existence. It begins with the definition of God as “a being than which no greater can be conceived.” It is then argued that to exist is greater than to not exist, and therefore the greatest conceivable being must exist. If God did not exist, then God would not be the greatest conceivable being, and that would contradict the very definition of God.

A second argument is the teleological argument. The teleological argument states that since the universe displays such an amazing design, there must have been a divine Designer. For example, if the Earth were significantly closer or farther away from the sun, it would not be capable of supporting much of the life it currently does. If the elements in our atmosphere were even a few percentage points different, nearly every living thing on earth would die. The odds of a single protein molecule forming by chance is 1 in 10243 (that is a 1 followed by 243 zeros). A single cell is comprised of millions of protein molecules.

A third logical argument for God’s existence is called the cosmological argument. Every effect must have a cause. This universe and everything in it is an effect. There must be something that caused everything to come into existence. Ultimately, there must be something “un-caused” in order to cause everything else to come into existence. That “un-caused” cause is God.

A fourth argument is known as the moral argument. Every culture throughout history has had some form of law. Everyone has a sense of right and wrong. Murder, lying, stealing, and immorality are almost universally rejected. Where did this sense of right and wrong come from if not from a holy God?

Despite all of this, the Bible tells us that people will reject the clear and undeniable knowledge of God and believe a lie instead. Romans 1:25 declares, “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.” The Bible also proclaims that people are without excuse for not believing in God: “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).

People claim to reject God’s existence because it is “not scientific” or “because there is no proof.” The true reason is that once they admit that there is a God, they also must realize that they are responsible to God and in need of forgiveness from Him (Romans 3:23, 6:23). If God exists, then we are accountable to Him for our actions. If God does not exist, then we can do whatever we want without having to worry about God judging us. That is why many of those who deny the existence of God cling strongly to the theory of naturalistic evolution—it gives them an alternative to believing in a Creator God. God exists and ultimately everyone knows that He exists. The very fact that some attempt so aggressively to disprove His existence is in fact an argument for His existence.

How do we know God exists? As Christians, we know God exists because we speak to Him every day. We do not audibly hear Him speaking to us, but we sense His presence, we feel His leading, we know His love, we desire His grace. Things have occurred in our lives that have no possible explanation other than God. God has so miraculously saved us and changed our lives that we cannot help but acknowledge and praise His existence. None of these arguments can persuade anyone who refuses to acknowledge what is already obvious. In the end, God’s existence must be accepted by faith (Hebrews 11:6). Faith in God is not a blind leap into the dark; it is safe step into a well-lit room where the vast majority of people are already standing.

Si Hesu Kristo ba ay Diyos? Inangkin ba ni Hesu Kristo na Siya ay Diyos?

Oo nga’t walang talata sa Banal na Kasulatan kung saan tuwirang sinabi ni Hesu Kristo ang ganito, 'Ako ay Diyos' ngunit hindi iyan nangangahulugan na hindi Niya kailanman ipinahayag na Siya ay Diyos. Isa sa mga halimbawa ay ang sinabi ni Hesu Kristo sa Juan 10:30, 'Ako at ang Ama ay iisa'. Sa biglang tingin, tila hindi ito tuwirang pag-angkin na Siya ay Diyos. Ngunit, para sa mga Hudyo ang sinabi ni Hesus ay tiyakang pag-angkin na Siya ay Diyos. Ganito ang reaksiyon ng mga Hudyo, 'Hindi dahil sa mabuting gawa kaya ka namin babatuhin, kundi dahil sa paglapastangan mo sa Diyos. Sapagkat nagpapanggap kang Diyos gayong tao ka lang'(Juan 10:33). Sa nabanggit na mga talata, hindi itinuwid ni Hesu Kristo ang mga Hudyo gaya ng pagsasabing, 'Hindi ko inangkin ang pagiging Diyos'. Ipinahihiwatig lamang nito na si Hesu Kristo ay Diyos nang Kanyang sabihin, 'Ako at ang Ama ay iisa'(Juan 10:30). Sa Juan 8:58, ganito naman ang wika ni Hesus, 'Katotohanang sinasabi Ko sa inyo, bago pa ipinanganak si Abraham, Ako ay Ako na!' Muling kumuha ng bato ang mga Hudyo at tinangkang batuhin si Hesus. Bakit kailangang batuhin ng mga Hudyo si Hesu Kristo, kung wala Siyang sinabi na sa paniniwala nila'y pamumusong sa pangalan ng kataas-taasang Diyos?

Sinasabi sa Juan 1:1, 'Sa pasimula pa'y naroon na ang Salita. Kasama ng Diyos ang Salita, at ang Salita ay Diyos'. Sa Juan 1:14, ang nakasaad ang ganito, 'Naging tao ang Salita at Siya'y nanirahan sa piling natin...'. Ito'y malinaw na nagpapahayag na si Hesu Kristo ay Diyos na nagkatawang-tao. Sinasabi sa atin sa Gawa 20:28, 'Ingatan ninyo ang inyong sarili at ang lahat ng kabilang sa katawan, sapagkat inilagay sila ng Espiritu Santo sa inyong pag-iingat. Pangalagaan ninyo ang Iglesiya ng Diyos na Kanyang tinubos sa pamamagitan ng kamatayan ng Kanyang sariling Anak'. Sinabi din sa Gawa 20:28 na binayaran ng Diyos ang Kanyang Iglesiya sa pamamagitan ng Kanyang Banal na dugo. Samakatuwid si Hesu Kristo ay tunay Diyos.

Ganito naman ang sinabi ng alagad na si Tomas kay Hesu Kristo, 'Panginoon ko at Diyos ko' (Juan 20:28). Sinabi sa Tito 2:13 na pinalalakas ang ating loob sa paghihintay ng muling pagparito ng ating Panginoon at Tagapagligtas - Hesu Kristo (basahin din sa 2 Pedro 1:1). Sa Hebreo 1:8, ganito ang nasusulat 'Ang Iyong trono, O Diyos, ay magpakailan pa man. Ikaw ay maghaharing may katarungan'.

Sa aklat ng Pahayag, itinuro ng Anghel kay Apostol Juan na tanging Diyos lamang ang sasambahin (Pahayag 19:10). Makailang ulit din na naitala sa Banal na Kasulatan na sinamba si Hesu Kristo (Mateo 2:11; 14:33; 28:9,17; Lukas 24:52; Juan 9:38). Kailan man ay hindi sinaway ni Hesu Kristo ang mga sumamba sa Kanya. Kung hindi Siya Diyos sana ay pinagsabihan Niya ang mga tao na huwag Siyang sambahin tulad ng ginawa ng Anghel kay Apostol Juan sa aklat ng Pahayag 19:10.

Marami pang mga talata at pahayag sa Banal na Kasulatan na nagpapatunay sa pagka-Diyos ni Hesu Kristo. Ang pinakamahalagang nagawa ng pagiging Diyos ni Hesu Kristo ay ang Kanyang ganap na handog - ang Kanyang kamatayan - bilang sapat na kabayaran ng kasalanan ng buong sanlibutan (1 Juan 2:2). Tanging Diyos lamang ang nagtataglay ng kakayahan at katuwiran upang mahango ang tao sa walang hanggang kaparusahan. Tanging Diyos lamang ang makagagawa na akuin ang kasalanan ng sanlibutan (2 Corinto 5:21), sa pamamagitan ng kamatayan at pagkabuhay na mag-uli ni Hesu Kristo - bilang katibayan ng Kanyang tagumpay laban sa kasalanan at kamatayan.

Ano ang Arianismo?

Ang Arianismo o Arianism ay ipinangalan kay Arius, isang g**o noong unang bahagi ng ikaapat na siglo A.D. Ang isa sa pinakauna at maaaring pinakamahalagang paksa na pinagtalunan ng mga unang Kristiyano ay ang tungkol sa pagka Diyos ni Kristo. Si Hesus ba ay tunay na Diyos sa anyong laman? Si Hesus ba ay Diyos o tulad lamang sa Diyos? Itinuro ni Arius na si Hesus ay nilikha lamang ng Diyos at Siya ang una sa lahat ng mga nilikha, at Siya rin ang pinakamaluwalhati sa lahat ng nilikha ng DIyos. Ang Arianismo (Arianism) ay ang pananaw na si Hesus ay isang nilikha ng Diyos na may katangiang gaya ng sa Diyos ngunit sa ganang Kanyang sarili ay hindi tunay na Diyos.

Mali ang naging pagkaunawa ng Arianismo sa mga talata sa Bibliya kung saan nabanggit na napagod si Hesus (Juan 4:6) at sinabi Niya na hindi Niya alam kung kailan Siya babalik (Mateo 24:36). Mahirap ngang maunawaan kung paanong ang Diyos ay napagod at walang alam tungkol sa isang bagay, ngunit ang ibaba ang Kanyang katayuan sa pagiging isang nilikha lamang ng Diyos ay isang napakalaking pagkakamali. Si Hesus ay tunay na Diyos, ngunit tunay ding Tao. Hindi naging tao si Hesus bago Siya nagkatawang tao. Siya ay Diyos sa pasimula pa (Juan 1:1). Kaya ang limitasyon ni Hesus bilang tao ay walang epekto sa Kanyang pagiging walang hanggang Diyos.

Ang ikalawang pangunahing misinterpretasyon ng Arianismo ay ang kahulugan ng pagiging 'panganay' sa lahat ng mga nilikha (Roma 8:29; Colosas 1:15-20). Ang pagkakaintindi ng Arianismo sa salitang 'panganay' sa mga talatang nabanggit ay 'pagsilang' o 'paglikha'. Ngunit hindi ito ang tamang pakahulugan. Ipinahayag mismo ni Hesus ang Kanyang pagiging walang hanggan at ang pagiral Niya sa Kanyang sarili bilang katunayan na Siya ay hindi isang nilikha (Juan 8:58; 10:30). Sinasabi sa Juan 1:1-2 na si Hesus ay 'kasama ng Diyos sa pasimula pa.' Sa panahon ng Bibliya, ang maging isang panganay na anak ay nangangahulugan ng pagkakaroon ng dakilang karangalan (Genesis 49:3; Exodo 11:5; 34:19; Bilang 3:40; Awit 89:27; Jeremias 31:9). Sa ganitong esensya naging 'panganay' si Hesus. Si Hesus ang 'Kamangha manghang Tagapayo, Makapangyarihang Diyos, Walang hanggang Ama at ang Pangulo ng Kapayapaan' (Isaias 9:6).

Pagkaraan ng halos ilang siglo ng mga debate ng mga iba't ibang konseho ng iglesya, opisyal na itinakwil ng iglesyang Kristitiyano ang Arianismo bilang isang maling doktrina. Mula noon, hindi na tinanggap ang Arianismo bilang isang kapani paniwalang doktrina ng pananampalataya. Ngunit hindi pa rin nawala ang Arianismo. Ngapatuloy ito sa pagdaan ng mga siglo sa iba't ibang kaanyuan. Ang saksi ni Jehovah at mga Mormons sa ngayon ay nanghahawak sa katulad na katuruan ng ng Arianismo tungkol sa kalikasan ni Kristo. Gaya ng ginawa ng unang iglesya, dapat din nating itakwil ang anuman at lahat ng pagatake sa pagka Diyos ng ating Panginoon at Tagapagligtas, ang Panginoong Hesu Kristo.
