SAVIO FRIENDS CLUB was founded by the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1950, and was called the St. It is present in Italy, USA, India, England, and Australia. It was born in the Philippines in 1977 as the SAVIO FRIENDS CLUB. Through the efforts of several pioneering Salesians who were based in the Don Bosco Center of Studies (Parañaque), it quickly spread to the different Salesian schools and parishes.
In 1985 it was established as an association at national level within the Salesian Youth Movement of the Philippines. The SAVIO FRIENDS CLUB is open to young people, boys and girls alike. It is suitable for schools, parishes, and neighborhood communities, in order to give the members an enriching experience of teamwork and friendship. Applicants should show a basic openness to people. They should be eager and able to make friends and establish relationships, possess a special sensitivity to those in need, and show concern for social issues.
