"Peace, Mission, and Service”
John 20:19–23
August 20, 2026 (Online)

Our Household gathering reminded us of Jesus’ comforting words: “Peace be with you!” In the midst of fear, uncertainty, and worries, Christ comes to meet us, gives us His peace, and sends us forth to continue His mission.

Through our reflection, we were reminded that being a follower of Christ is not only about receiving His love but also about sharing that love through service, forgiveness, and mercy. We are each called to become instruments of God’s peace wherever He has placed us.

We were also reminded of the important role of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. Like the disciples, we may sometimes feel afraid or unsure, but the Holy Spirit gives us the courage, wisdom, and strength to live out our faith and respond to God’s call.

The sharing of our brothers and sisters gave us an opportunity to reflect on the fears and worries we need to surrender to Jesus, how we recognize the Holy Spirit working in our lives, and the ways we can share the Gospel through our words and actions.

Thank You, Lord, for reminding us that Your peace is greater than our fears. May we continue to open our hearts to the Holy Spirit, forgive as You forgive us, and courageously respond to Your call to serve.

May we carry Christ’s peace beyond our Household—into our families, workplaces, communities, and parish—so that through our presence and service, others may experience His love.

A fundraising concert for the Installation of the Carillon
Featuring Basil Valdez, with special performances from Rev. Fr. Carlos V. Reyes, Coro Jesù and Canticos del Santuario.

Some sounds simply fade away. But some sounds remain—and continue to remind us that God is always calling.

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe hopes to give our community a lasting voice of prayer, hope, and faith through the installation of a Carillon—one that will not simply be heard within the walls of the Shrine, but will become part of the life and memory of our community.

One day, the sound of these bells may call hearts to prayer, mark moments of celebration, and gently remind everyone who hears them that there is always a place where faith comes home.

And with every ring, a part of our community will be part of its story.

On 24 October 2026, let us come together not simply to enjoy an evening of beautiful music, but to help begin something that will continue to speak long after the music ends.

We are not simply helping install bells. We are helping give faith a voice that future generations will hear.

"Building the Body of Christ"
Part 1: Presence and Service in Action
August 8, 2026 (Online)

Our Household Prayer Meeting reminded us that building the Body of Christ begins with a simple yet faithful response: to be present and to serve. As we reflected on the Gospel of Matthew 14:22–33 and the message of Ephesians 4:11–12, we were reminded that God has given each of us unique gifts—not for ourselves alone, but for the strengthening of His Church and the growth of our parish community.

One of the highlights of our gathering was the "Kaloob Naming Mag-asawa sa Katawan ni Kristo" activity, where each couple prayerfully reflected on the gifts God has entrusted to them and how these can be offered in service to others. It was a meaningful reminder that every family has a role in building a vibrant and Christ-centered parish.

We were encouraged to recognize that our presence in the Church is already a form of witness. Faithfully attending the Holy Mass, participating in parish activities, and serving in different parish ministries are concrete ways of strengthening the Body of Christ. These acts of faith and service may seem ordinary, but they become powerful expressions of love when offered to God and His people.

As a household, we also joyfully shared a future plan that God has begun to place in our hearts—the dream of starting a Sunday School for children in our parish. We pray that this vision may become a concrete expression of our desire to help the next generation know, love, and follow Christ. We entrust this plan to the Lord and ask for His guidance, wisdom, and grace as we discern and prepare for this future ministry.

The heartfelt sharing of our brothers and sisters reminded us that the Church grows not only through grand programs, but through ordinary people who choose to show up, serve faithfully, and offer their gifts with humility and love.

Thank You, Lord, for calling us to be living members of Your Body. May we continue to respond with generous hearts, faithful presence, and joyful service, so that our families and our parish may become ever stronger witnesses of Your love.

"A Self-Denial and Sacrifice"
Following Jesus Through the Cross
August 7, 2026 (Face-to-face)

Our household gathering reminded us that true discipleship is not always easy, but it is always meaningful. As we reflected on the Gospel of Matthew 16:24–28, Jesus invited us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him with faithfulness and perseverance.

The reflection challenged us to look beyond our personal comfort, ambitions, and selfish desires, and instead place God's will at the center of our lives. We were reminded that following Christ requires daily surrender, courage, and trust—even when the path is difficult or uncertain.

One of the highlights of our gathering was our reflection on the crosses we carry in our own lives. Through honest sharing, we recognized that God is present in our struggles, responsibilities, relationships, and sacrifices. These are not merely burdens to endure, but opportunities to grow in holiness and become more like Christ.

The heartfelt sharing of our brothers and sisters affirmed that self-denial is not about losing ourselves, but about discovering the life that God has prepared for us. When we let go of what prevents us from fully following Jesus, we experience a deeper freedom, purpose, and peace that only He can give.

Thank You, Lord, for reminding us that the way of the cross is also the way of life. May we continue to respond generously to Your call, embrace our crosses with hope, and follow You with unwavering faith.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Bro. Erik, Sis. Tere, and Tommy (Akol Family) for graciously opening your home and warmly welcoming us into a place of prayer, fellowship, and encouragement. Your generosity and hospitality made our gathering even more meaningful.

May we continue to carry our crosses with love, deny ourselves for the sake of Christ, and follow Him with steadfast hearts.

"Going Beyond Our Differences"
July 31, 2026 (Online)

Our Upper Household gathering reminded us that true Christian love begins when we choose to see one another through the eyes of Christ. As we reflected on the Gospel of Matthew 13:54–58, we were challenged to go beyond familiarity, judgment, and differences, and instead recognize the dignity and worth that God has placed in every person.

"Sawubona", an ancient Zulu greeting meaning "I see the whole of you—your experiences, strengths, weaknesses, and future. You are valuable to me," deeply resonated with our reflection. It reminds us that God sees us completely, knows us by name, and calls us His beloved children. In Christ, we are one family, united in His love.

One of the highlights of our gathering was our reflection on how our differences can become opportunities for compassion rather than division. Through honest sharing and attentive listening, we were reminded that going beyond our differences begins with acknowledging one another, rejecting indifference, and choosing love even when it is difficult.

The heartfelt sharing of our brothers and sisters affirmed that unity is not the absence of differences, but the presence of Christ at the center of our relationships. When we truly see one another and respond with understanding and mercy, we become living witnesses of God's grace in our families and community.

Thank You, Lord, for teaching us to see others as You see them. May we continue to live the spirit of Sawubona—to see, value, and love one another fully, and to go beyond our differences with compassion and humility.

Looking back, we are so grateful for all the wonderful moments, fellowship and prayers shared during our Household meetings throughout the month of June and July 2026. God has truly been moving in our midst!

As we step into August 2026, we’re excited for even more Household gatherings, deeper connections and spiritual growth together.

May God bless us all and our families abundantly this August.
