The Church and the Media 📡⛪️
A beautiful angle of St. Peregrine Quasi-Parish under the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, entrusted to the care of the Society of St. Paul (Society of St Paul Philippines-Australia) (SSP), a religious congregation dedicated to social communication and evangelization through media.
In the background stand the regional stations and transmitter towers of ABS-CBN Corporation Northern Mindanao and TV5 Network, Inc. Region 10.
A scene where Church and media share one horizon: both called to communicate truth, to share hope, and service to people.
The Church and media are closely linked in the mission of communicating truth, especially in today’s context where information spreads fast but not always accurately. As emphasized in Inter mirifica, communication is not only about sharing messages but forming truth and conscience. In a time of misinformation and noise, both Church and media are called to safeguard what is real, responsible, and life-giving.

Sharing this simple Pauline prayer for all who serve in media:
Prayer for All the Media
We adore you, O Lord, Creator of heaven and earth. We thank you for having placed at the disposition of humanity such a wealth of goods for the present life and eternal life.
“All these are yours; but you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God” (see 1 Cor 3:23).
O Jesus, Divine Master, in your mercy enlighten and direct us so that all the discoveries and means of social communication may be used for edifying and uplifting, never for spiritual or human ruin.
Today we pray for all the media. We offer you, Jesus Master, our prayers and our daily apostolate to atone for the misuse of these gifts and to ask of you that everything may be for the glory of God and peace to humanity.
Jesus Master, Way, Truth, and Life,
have mercy on us.
Mary Queen of Apostles,
pray for us.
St. Paul the Apostle, Bl. James Alberione, and St. Peregrine,
pray for us.
