🙏 NO FAME. NO PREACHING. ONLY GOD.
Thanksgiving Mass for the Visit of the Pilgrim Relic of St. Sharbel Makhlouf at St. John Bosco Parish, Makati
Some saints preached to thousands.
Some built schools and changed the lives of young people.
And some simply disappeared into silence.
St. Sharbel Makhlouf was one of them. A Lebanese Maronite monk and hermit, St. Sharbel chose a life of prayer, silence, fasting and the Eucharist. He lived quietly, far from recognition and applause.
He was not looking for fame.
He was not looking for followers.
He was looking for GOD..
And strangely enough, the man who sought to remain hidden became one of the most loved saints in Lebanon and beyond..
Even after his death, people began coming to his tomb seeking his intercession. Numerous healings have been attributed to his prayers. One of the most remarkable was the healing of Nohad El Shami, a Lebanese mother who had suffered paralysis. After her family prayed through St. Sharbel’s intercession, she reported a miraculous recovery.
But perhaps St. Sharbel’s greatest message is not about miracles. It is about where we place our hearts.. And that is where St. Sharbel connects beautifully with two other great saints.
St. Augustine spent years searching for happiness in the wrong places before finally discovering that his restless heart could find rest only in God.
St. John Bosco took a very different path. Instead of retreating into silence, he went out to the streets and gave his entire life to young people, seeing in them the face of Christ.
St. Augustine searched.
St. Sharbel withdrew.
St. John Bosco went out.
Different lives. Different missions.
The same destination: GOD. ✝️
In a world that constantly tells us to be seen, heard and noticed, St. Sharbel quietly reminds us:
You don’t have to be famous to be holy.
You don’t have to be applauded.
You don’t have to be important in the eyes of the world.
You only have to belong to GOD.
What a grace for our community to welcome the Pilgrim Relic of St. Sharbel at St. John Bosco Parish, Makati.
We are truly grateful for this invitation and for the opportunity to encounter this remarkable saint.
✝️ May St. Sharbel teach us the beauty of silence.
✝️ May St. Augustine teach us where true happiness is found.
✝️ And may St. John Bosco teach us to bring that love of God into the lives of others.
St. Sharbel Makhlouf, pray for us. 🙏
No fame.
No preaching.
Only God.
Glory to God. Now and Forever
Thank you po Fr. Hans, Fr. Ronnie & Fr. Jake 🙏
