With hearts full of gratitude, we gather as one family at Cecil's Resort, reflecting on our theme: "𝐌𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲, 𝐌𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞"✨

As 𝘌𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 2:19 NKJV reminds us,
[19] Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.

All Glory to God for the journey of faith, family, and love. Thanks to our beloved Senior 𝑃𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟 𝐿𝑒𝑜 𝑆𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑜 as our preacher.

Praying for many more years of serving and growing in His grace!☺️

"And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me" (John 11:41).

This is a very strange. Lazarus is still in the grave, and the thanksgiving precedes the miracle of resurrection. I thought that the thanksgiving would have risen when the great deed had been wrought, and Lazarus was restored to life again.

But Jesus gives thanks for what He is about to receive. The gratitude breaks forth before the bounty has arrived, in the assurance that it is certainly on the way. The song of victory is sung before the battle has been fought. It is the sower who is singing the song of the harvest home. It is thanksgiving before the miracle!

Who thinks of announcing a victory-psalm when the crusaders are just starting out for the field? Where can we hear the grateful song for the answer which has not yet been received? And after all, there is nothing strange or forced, or unreasonable in the Master’s order.

Praise is really the most vital preparatory ministry to the working of the miracles. Miracles are wrought by spiritual power. Spiritual power is always proportioned to our faith.-- Dr. Jowett

What Do You Live For?

Scripture reading : Joshua 24:14-24

Life is full of choices. What you choose to live for is the most important choice of all. Once you have made this choice, it will help you to make every other choice in life.

Joshua summons all the people with him and tells them they have to choose how to spend the rest of their lives. He says, ‘choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve’ (v. 15).

1. Why do you have to choose?
Everyone is a servant – either voluntarily or involuntarily. Some people say, ‘I am free. I don’t serve anyone.’ But that is not one of the options. We serve either ‘the Lord’ or ‘foreign gods,’ as the passage says. Serving other gods leads eventually to emptiness, shame and death. Serving the Lord leads to freedom and the ability to make the right decisions for ourselves and our families.

2. Why should you choose the Lord?
The answer to Joshua’s question (v. 15) is that they should choose God because of what he has done for them (vv. 17–18). From our perspective, God has sent his Son Jesus to die for you and me and sent his Spirit to come and give us new life. He has liberated you from shame, addiction, fear and death. He has set you free to know God, to love and to be transformed into his likeness.

3. What does it mean to choose to serve him?
Joshua says they must ‘serve him with all faithfulness’ (v. 14). Literally, the word means ‘fullness,’ ‘completeness,’ ‘integrity.’ The people thought they could serve the Lord and keep the other gods as well. But serving the Lord involves all your heart and all your life.

4. How do you choose to serve him?
Joshua’s answer (v. 23) is two-fold:
‘Throw away the foreign gods’ – Make sure that God has no rivals for his affection in your heart.

‘Yield your hearts to the Lord’ – Put every area of your life into the hands of the Lord: your family, friends, time, work, money, sexuality, possessions and abilities.
Choose for yourself this day whom you will serve (v. 15).

Why not ask God to reveal if there are any ‘other gods’ in your life? If there are, you could resolve today to get rid of them. Choose today to serve the Lord for the rest of your life. You will never regret it.

What do shoes have to do with the gospel of peace?

1.. To put on the shoes of the gospel means being ready and eager to find opportunities to share the good news of Jesus.
2. To put on the shoes of the gospel of peace means provide a firm foundation of our faith to Jesus.

𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Always put on the shoes of the gospel of peace. Having a good pair of shoes can help us walk across rough terrain, having confidence in Jesus and allows us to boldly proclaim His name while we may face persecution in life, we can rest in knowing the Savior of the world loves and cares for us.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:
The shoes of peace equip us to:
1. fight for Christ in the spiritual battle we face.
2. Walk through rough areas and having hope in Christ.
3. Walk through trials we face.

- If our heart is unhealthy, it threatens everything. If we lose our heart, we will lose everything.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Believing Jesus is the one who makes us righteous, meditating on His word, and asking God to strengthen us in His righteousness is the key to overcome spiritual warfare. It's hard to challenge the enemy if we are not putting the armor of God, however God gives us supernatural armor to protect our hearts which is the breastplate of righteousness
