Task 2:

1.)Giving time to God is just a little thing we could give back to Him for all the things He have done for us. I personally felt that I was back on track with God again and that my faith in Him is growing and its not that weak anymore. I observed that in the church i am serving, a lot of children were present and young adults like me were also rendering church service. it was fun to see the children enjoy the mass and not get bored and sleepy. I realized that having this kind of program will not stop because your ten hours is over but instead you will feel tge urge and commitment to go to church and serve God because we need Him.

2.I recommend this program to continue so that every Lasallian will know the experience of having spiritual growth among themselves and by having a strong foundation of faith for God. Being in the involvement is already meaningful and helpful enough because you have the chance to know God more.
I recommend this program to help the lost ones find theirselves
theirselves through God and have a better relationship with Him.

3. what i intend to do with what i learned from the Church Involvement is to share my experiences with others. i want others to experience the same yhing I experienced. I want to let people be closer to God because we need Him. Serving the church not only for the certificate but also to help yourself to be close to God is whats important.

Is the Lord welcomed at your table and are you ready to feast at his table?

A Pharisee, after hearing Jesus preach, invited him to dinner, no doubt, because he wanted to hear more from this extraordinary man who spoke the word of God as no one else had done before. It was not unusual for a rabbi to give a teaching over dinner. Jesus, however, did something which offended his host. He did not perform the ceremonial washing of hands before beginning the meal. Did Jesus forget or was he deliberately performing a sign to reveal something to his host?

Jesus turned the table on his host by chiding him for uncleanness of heart. Which is more important to God — clean hands or a clean mind and heart? Jesus chided the Pharisees for harboring evil thoughts — greed, pride, bitterness, envy, arrogance, and the like. Why does he urge them, and us, to give alms? When we give freely and generously to those in need we express love, compassion, kindness, and mercy. And if the heart is full of love and compassion, then there is no room for envy, greed, bitterness, and the like. Do you allow God’s love to transform your heart and mind?

“Lord, fill me with your love and increase my thirst for holiness. Cleanse my heart of every evil thought and desire and help me to act kindly and justly and to speak charitably with my neighbor.”

REFLECTION FOR TODAY :))

When Jesus’ followers ask for faith, what do we want?

Some might desire that faith brings a certain kind of certainty, perhaps even superiority. Faith, then, becomes an accomplishment. Some seek a mystical experience, a faith that works like a drug and helps us get through life’s ordinary challenges. Some aspire to faith as an antidote to struggle. With enough faith, the televangelists tell us, we can conquer doubt, illness, even economic hardship.

In this light, mustard seed faith and modest discipleship may be just what we need. By God’s grace, discipleship requires not unshakable confidence or spectacular accomplishments. Luke’s Jesus indeed makes extraordinary demands of his disciples, yet sometimes discipleship requires ordinary and daily practices of fidelity and service.

Unfortunately, our culture has acquired a taste for spectacular spirituality. By the grace of God, mustard seed faith and ordinary discipleship more often suffice.

TASK 1.

**What is the name of the Church / Parish Community where you will be involved in Term 1? What made you decide to choose this Church?
Nuestra Señora de Gracia Church, I chose the churches because it was the first church I encountered when I started sticking around here in Manila and it actually reminds me one of the churches I used to go when I was still in Baguio.

•What ministry have you chosen to be involved? Briefly describe the nature of the service.
I was not yet assigned by the coordinator to any ministry because I didn’t meet the head catechist last Saturday.

•Describe the Church community in terms of:

A. Location - The antique church is easy to miss as it is located off Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) somewhere on a hilly street at the back of the big billboard in Guadalupe Bridge. Coming from the north of EDSA, take a right turn on Bernardino Street where Loyola Memorial Home is situated.

B. People who are part of the community
The parish church and its adjacent monastery are currently administered by the Augustinian friars of the Province of Sto. Niño de Cebu. Its neighborhood include the Loyola Memorial Chapel, the Laperal compound, and the Guadalupe Minor Seminary.

C. Different ministry that they have
The parish has a number of ministries aimed at addressing various needs of the community it serves: worship, education, youth, family, social services, public affairs, vocation promotion, catechetical, music and much more :)

Today's Reflection :

~~How do you handle power and authority, both spiritual and temporal?

Jesus gave his apostles both power and authority to speak and to act in his name — to cast out evil spirits, to heal, and to speak the word of God. When Jesus spoke of power and authority he did something unheard of. He wedded power and authority with love and humility.

The “world” and the “flesh” seek power for selfish gain. Jesus teaches us to use it for the good of our neighbor.

Why does Jesus tell the apostles to “travel light” with little or no provision? “Poverty of spirit” frees us from greed and preoccupation with possessions and makes ample room for God’s provision. The Lord wants his disciples to be dependent on him and not on themselves. He wills to work through and in each of us for his glory.

Are you ready to handle the power and authority which God wishes you to exercise on his behalf? The Lord entrusts us with his gifts and talents. Are you eager to place yourself at his service, to do whatever he bids you, and to witness his truth and saving power to whomever he sends you?

“Lord, make me a channel of your grace and healing love that others may find life and freedom in you. Free me from all other attachments that I may joyfully pursue the things of heaven. May I witness the joy of the gospel both in word and deed.”
