Part 12 β The Warfare in My Life
Back to my situation. The family I was living with did not want me to heal their people, so I stopped doing it in the market. But I continued praying for and helping our neighbors. Then my ex-partner caught me doing it and told me not to do it again.
God had called me to be a healer in that nation, but people refused to accept it.
My life began to change rapidly, and I felt like the enemy started attacking every area of my life. He seemed to use the people around me to turn against me. My ex-partner started hurting me physically again. He would punch and slap me for no reason.
My life started to become a living hell.
His family began persecuting me. They stopped feeding me and deprived me of food and water. They excluded me from everything.
I also felt attacked spiritually. My ex-partner's mother had a friend whom I was told practiced witchcraft, and she would often go to her. My sister-in-law told me that she was putting curses on me because she was very jealous. She was also causing problems for many people, especially her own husband.
The attacks seemed to come from every side.
The enemy attack me spiritually, emotionally, in everyside and my adversary also is the people around me.
Sometimes, I could no longer bear it. I cried out to God day and night. I had many sleepless nights, asking Him, "Why did You allow these things to happen to me when I chose You above everything in my life?"
But I decided not to complain to Him anymore. I continued worshipping Him and praying, hoping that everything would eventually change. I motivated myself to keep going even though everything seemed to be falling apart in my life.
I had reached the lowest point of my life.
Then I began observing the people around me. They appeared to be religious in their community, but I felt that their religion was in vain because I had lived with them and saw how they treated people behind closed doors.
As Matthew 7:20 says:
"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."
When no one seemed to notice what was happening, their relatives still loved and cared for me. It was only my ex-partner's immediate family who hated me. I felt that the enemy was using them against me.
So, I decided to burn the altars and religious images in their house. I burned them all until they turned to ashes.
His father became extremely angry and almost had me brought to a mental hospital. His parents also hurt me. They pulled my hair and slapped me, and they almost burned my hand.
His father told my ex-partner what I had done. They argued about what they should do to me. His father even brought me to the police station, intending to have me imprisoned. However, the police told him to take me to another police station.
Instead, he decided to bring me back home to my children. But they told his son to punish me.
My ex-partner went into our room in his parents' house and started talking to me. He cursed at me and He did not stopped punching me that almost killing me. He was trying to kill me..
But God covered me and protected me.
The spiritual warfare in my life did not stop there. He also began to hate his children because of the influence of his family. We became isolated inside their home.
I became extremely skinny. I could see my bones because my body had become so thin. I tried to hide it by always wearing long sleeves. When I looked in the mirror, I could hardly recognize myself. My beauty had faded, and I looked malnourished.
I could not tell my family what was happening to me because I was afraid they would worry about me. So I found my strength and refuge in God. I cried to Him day and night.
I started selling my old clothes and other belongingsβanything I could sell. I sold them online so that I could feed myself and my children because they were depriving us of food and basic necessities.
I was losing hope each day, but I never stopped praying and worshipping God in spirit and in truth.
My ex-partner and I did not speak for three years. During that time, I was living alone in a small room inside their house.
I felt that I could not escape because I was afraid that if I left with my children, he could accuse me of kidnapping them or make a false report to the police.
They would have parties at their house and invite their relatives and friends, while deliberately excluding us. Their relatives would even look for me to find out where I was hiding inside the house.
But I hid from them.
They laughed at me and mocked me in their circle of friends.
I tell one of my Christian friend my situation. And She told me I can't even imagine I was in your situation. She said I felt like you are inside the Lions den in your situation. And most of my true Christian friends that I met online was praying for me over my situation.
By God's grace. They are comforting me they are real sister in Christ.
By God's grace I endured the persecution and humiliation. I endured the rejection and the pain. I simply kept going.
