Can you believe that it’s only 23 days until Christmas? 🎄⭐🔔

During the very first Christmas, God gave us the BEST gift ever by sending us Jesus. How about us? What gift can we offer to Jesus? 🎁

This Christmas, Church Jr invites YOU to GIFT A SHOEBOX to someone in need! May we all learn that giving is a great way to spread God’s love to others! 💗

We invite everyone to prepare a simple shoebox to give to another child this Christmas!

Our goal is to give 100 shoeboxes to 100 kids in the Filipino Worship Service of Makati Gospel Church. You can fill the shoebox with a non-perishable Noche Buena pack, toiletries, new clothes, or school supplies.

Please bring your shoeboxes to MGC Dela Rosa on or before December 18!

This Christmas, may we put a smile on Jesus’ face by giving a small gift to one of His children. MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄🎁

Hello, Church Jr.! 😊

This Sunday, we will be looking at another story from the Book of Daniel: Daniel's Dream. 💭 Two weeks ago, King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that needed to be interpreted, but this time, Daniel was the one who dreamt it.

In his dream, he saw four beasts. The first looked like a lion 🦁 with the wings of an eagle 🦅, and this represented the nation of Babylon. The second creature was a bear 🐻 with ribs in its mouth, and this represented the kingdom of the Medes and the Persians. The third creature was a leopard 🐆 with four wings on its back and four heads, and this represented Greece. The last creature had 10 horns and was described to be very strong 💪 and destructive, and this represented Rome.

So what happened in the dream? Daniel watched as the Lord Almighty sat on His throne and killed the last creature (Rome) and destroyed the other three creatures (Babylon, Persia, and Greece)! 😱

There will be and have been many kingdoms, nations, and governments in the world, but there is one thing that will remain. God has power over all of these, and He is the true King of the Universe. 👑 All the nations mentioned a while ago were huge empires that last many years, but Jesus could easily crush them. Let us remember to worship our One True King! ☝️

Hello, Church Jr.! 😄

Last Sunday, we learned about a story many of us have heard before: Daniel in the lion’s den! 🧔‍♂️🦁

In Daniel’s time, Babylon had a new king—King Darius. 👑 Daniel was chosen by King Darius to be his helper, and because Daniel worked very hard, he got a promotion too! However, the king’s other helpers were jealous of Daniel 😠, so they tried to get him into trouble.

The other helpers wanted to catch Daniel doing something that was against the law, but Daniel always did what was right in God’s eyes, so they hatched a plan against him: they made King Darius make a law 📜 saying that everyone had to pray to him alone, or else they would get thrown into a pit of lions! 🙏 Daniel prayed to God like he always did, and the helpers got him caught.

King Darius did not want to throw Daniel into the lion’s den 😨, but he could not change the law. 😭 But God shut the lions’ mouths so that they could not hurt Daniel. 😶 When the king came to check on Daniel, he was relieved to find Daniel safe and sound! 😆 The king was so happy that he made a new law saying that everyone must respect God.

Just like Daniel, we can trust in God’s power to keep us safe, no matter the circumstance. He ultimately saved us from sin and eternal death! 🤩

Wonderful Sunday, Church Jr.! 🤩

This week we studied about Daniel and King Nebuchadnezzar's dream. 💭💤 One night, the king was asleep, and he had a dream that confused him 🤔😕 so much that he called all the wise men in the kingdom to tell him what it meant. In his dream, there was a big and mighty tree 🌳 that was cut down, and only the stump and roots remained. 🪵

The men could not tell the king what his dream meant because they did not really have any power. 🤷‍♂️ Eventually, King Nebuchadnezzar became so mad that anyone who would not be able to tell him what it meant would be punished! 😡

Eventually, Daniel heard about this, and prayed to God about what should be done. 🙏 The Lord told Daniel the meaning of the dream and sent him to tell King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel told the king that the tree was actually him 👈, and if he did not humble himself before the Lord, he would be taken down as well. His kingdom would be taken from him, but it will be given back better than before. ✨

Of course, this came true. One day, while King Nebuchadnezzar was in his palace being rude towards God, the Lord rebuked him and punished him by making him a shameful man. From being a king, he was sent out into the wild and ended up eating grass and becoming very dirty, like an animal! 🐻

Pride is a horrible thing because with it, we believe that we are above what God sent us to do. 😤 We think that we know better! It is in human nature to think this way, however, there was one Man who did not. Jesus humbled Himself, and died on the cross for our sins. He knew it was God's plan, and so He obeyed and saved you and me! 🥰

Joyful Sunday, Church Jr.! 🎉😍

Today we began Unit 16: Hope in Exile! We began the story Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and the fiery furnace! 🔥

These three men were from Judah and were friends of Daniel. Under King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon’s rule, they were commanded to bend down and worship a statue; or else they would be thrown into a hot furnace!

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow down to the statue because they worshipped and loved the one true God. 💖 Because of this, they were thrown into the furnace by the king. 😱 However, something amazing happened!

The king thought he had thrown only three men into the furnace, but he saw four people in the furnace! The fourth man was the Lord who was there to deliver them from hurt because they were faithful. The three friends stepped out of the furnace completely unharmed! And King Nebuchadnezzar praised God.

Even better than the three friends, the Lord came to save us an eternal death—through Jesus Christ! 👐 Jesus did this so that those who love the one true God could have the chance to be with God forever and ever! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Happy Sunday, Church Jr.! 😁

This week, we had our unit review for Unit 15: The Southern Kingdom of Judah. 🎉

We learned that Israel was not living like God's Chosen People. 😭 They were sinning, turning to idols, and listening to men more than God. 🖤 They were selfish and did not obey His commands, so God sent prophets to try to turn them all back to Him. 📣

First, we had the prophet Isaiah. He called God's people to go back to following His commands. He was also the one to tell them about God's plan for ALL people, the Messiah! 😍

Next, we saw how good leaders can turn a country around. King Hezekiah and King Josiah feared God and loved Him. 👑 They tore down the idols and pushed the people towards the right way of living once more. 😊

Sadly, that did not last. 🥲 The Israelites turned to sin again after these two kings died, so God sent another prophet: Jeremiah. He reminded the people of the new and better covenant through the Messiah and told them to repent and fix their relationship with God. ❗

The prophet Habakkuk also had the same message. He told the Israelites to stop trusting in idols and to trust in the Lord again. 😌

Unfortunately, the Israelites did not listen—they still continued to sin! 😰 So God had to let them suffer the consequences of their actions. They were captured and made to be servants of other nations. 🔗 Their lives were miserable, and they were taken away from their homes and their families to places they did not know. How horrible! 😱

However, through this last prophet, Ezekiel, God gave them hope. Can you guess how? He promised that they would come back home and be given another chance! 🤩 The Messiah would fix what their sin had broken. Let us be thankful for this blessing that He has blessed us with. 💖
