Blessed House of Worship Incorporated is offering a study in ESCHATOLOGY

Let’s collaborate and study together for this class about (the theology of "last things") offers a TRANSFORMATIVE LOOK at the end times, FOCUSING ON HOPE THE RETURN OF CHRIST, and ULTIMATE DIVINE VICTORY. It encourages believers to live with urgency, purpose, and confidence, turning prophecy into practical motivation for spreading the gospel and holy living.

Description:

Eschatology is the branch of theology and philosophy focused on "the last things"—the ultimate destiny of humanity, the world, and the universe.
It comes from the Greek words eschatos (meaning "last") and -logy (meaning "the study of").

What are our duties to share the good news of the living Christ?

–This fellowship was the basis for starting the New Testament church. Such fellowship however, was not for a select group. It always sought to bring others into it. Jesus told His disciples that the Holy Spirit would come upon them in Jerusalem. They were then to be witnesses to Him everywhere —at Jerusalem, in neighboring areas, and "to all nations" v.47. We should also be eager now to share the Scriptures and news of a living Christ

– As we share with one another the reality of His presence in our lives, it is heaven begun! ✨️💖

What does this event say to us about the importance of opening our hearts and homes to Jesus?

– The two disciples on the road to Emmaus invite the unrecognized resurrected Jesus to stay with them—teaches that welcoming Jesus into our hearts and homes is crucial for transforming doubt into recognition, experiencing his presence, and receiving spiritual illumination.
– The disciples' act of inviting the "stranger" to share their home (v. 29) set the stage for their eyes to be opened. This emphasizes that intentional hospitality and making space for Jesus in our daily lives—our homes—allows him to reveal his presence.
– Ultimately, this passage teaches that opening our hearts and homes to Jesus transforms the ordinary into the sacred, allowing him to turn our personal "Emmaus" journey of despair into a joyous, informed, and active faith ✨️💖

How can Jesus' words help us in our times of dashed hopes?

– The crushing burden of the disciples was expressed in these words: "We had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel" v.21
Jesus called to their attention the broad view of redemptive history.
– In their grief they did not realize who it was that talked and walked with them. Often when we think our Lord is far away, He is closer than we think✨️💖

What does the experience of the travelers to Emmaus say to us about the faithfulness of Christ?

– These common travelers had a love for Jesus, placing all their hopes in Him. But what happened Friday in Jerusalem shattered their great dreams. The One they loved was put to death. As they walked along the way they talked about all these things that had just taken place in Jerusalem.
"Jesus... walked along with them" (v. 15)
"They were kept from recognizing him" (v. 16).✨️💖

Key Verse:
"If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin" (1John 1:7).

Lesson Purpose
To emphasize our privilege of walking daily with the living Christ and our responsibility of telling others about Him ✨️💖

What were the immediate effects of our Lord's death?

On the centurion
– Jesus' death moved a Ronan Centurion. The centurion realized that the Man on the middle cross was no common criminal like the two thieves crucified with Him.

On all the people
–The people who gathered to witness the crucifixion of Jesus were shocked and sorrowful. These people lived in a day of violence. Crucifixion were common but the death of Christ was somehow uncommon. It affected them differently than the death of the two thieves. Jesus' death broke the hard hearts of people.

On His friends
–Though some people left the scene of the Crucifixion, Jesus' friends gathered there. At least the disciple, John, was near the Cross and the faithful women were there.

Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves. Indeed, Christ's death was the death that changes lives✨️💖

What temptation came to Jesus in His times of suffering?

In what ways does the forgiveness of the penitent thief show the purpose of the sacrificial death of Christ?

What encouraging truth is suggested by the tearing of the curtain?

The impenitent thief; he said,"Aren't you the Christ? Sace yourself and us! Here was Satan's last effort to get Jesus to avoid the suffering of the cross. It was also the temptation to do something dramatic at this final hour to compel people to believe.
On the other hand, though a common criminal, he voiced his faith in these words —"Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom. "
"Today... with me" v.43
His reply to the thief shows Jesus doing what He came to do. He came to save the lost, forgive the sinners and give hope to the hopeless.

At the death of Christ was the tearing of the curtain of the Temple. The curtain was supernaturally split. This tearing gave every believer access into the Presence of God – not once a year but anytime, anywhere.
A human mediator was no longer necessary ✨️💖

Key Verse:
We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16

Lesson Purpose:
To see that as Christ's suffering and death changed the penitent thief, so it changes all persons who believe in Him today. ✨️💖
