Reading 1
1 Peter 1:10-16
Beloved:
Concerning the salvation of your souls
the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours
searched and investigated it
investigating the time and circumstances
that the Spirit of Christ within them indicated
when it testified in advance
to the sufferings destined for Christ
and the glories to follow them.
It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you
with regard to the things that have now been announced to you
by those who preached the Good News to you
through the Holy Spirit sent from heaven,
things into which angels longed to look.

Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, live soberly,
and set your hopes completely on the grace to be brought to you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Like obedient children,
do not act in compliance with the desires of your former ignorance
but, as he who called you is holy,
be holy yourselves in every aspect of your conduct,
for it is written, Be holy because I am holy.

Gospel
Mark 10:28-31
Peter began to say to Jesus,
"We have given up everything and followed you."
Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you,
there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters
or mother or father or children or lands
for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel
who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age:
houses and brothers and sisters
and mothers and children and lands,
with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come.
But many that are first will be last, and the last will be first."

As a Salesian community, we joyfully celebrated the Solemnity Mass in Honor of Mary Help of Christians together with our devoted parishioners and the members of the Association of Devotees of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), whose lives continue to be inspired by the loving guidance of our Blessed Mother.

The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗝𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗦𝗗𝗕, Provincial Superior of the Salesian Philippine North Province, together with our Parish Priest, 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝗦𝗗𝗕; the new Rector of the Provincial House and Provincial Secretary, 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗨𝗺𝗶𝗷𝘂𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘇𝗮, 𝗦𝗗𝗕; Assisting Priest of the Provincial House,𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗮𝗼, 𝗦𝗗𝗕; and the newly ordained deacon, 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗼, 𝗦𝗗𝗕. In his homily, Fr. Javey said to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in the same way Jesus Christ is honoring his mother. It is Jesus who gives the honor and we being part of the family of Jesus gives the same honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary. And we know what Don Bosco has been telling to all of us that "𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲." the fact that you are here simply manifest that you have this great devotion, this great love for the Mother of God, this great love for the Mother of Jesus and because of this love, because of this devotion you are guaranteed to see miracles in your life. Yan ay pangako ng Diyos, makakakita ka ng milagro sa iyong buhay. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀? 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁. 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆. Miracles will continue to unfold, miracles will continue to be part of our life, because in this great family we are always assured of the every help from the Mother of God. Kahit anong mangyare, God will not abandon you. That is exactly the beauty and the life that we are celebrating as Christian People.

As children of Don Bosco, we entrust our community, our families, and the young people to the maternal care of Mary Help of Christians. May she continue to guide us closer to Christ and strengthen our mission of faith, service, and devotion.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

Today, May 25, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians. This year, the celebration was moved from its customary date of May 24 because it coincided with Pentecost Sunday, one of the highest celebrations in the liturgical calendar.

Mary Help of Christians is a beloved title of the Blessed Virgin Mary, honoring her loving intercession and maternal protection for the faithful. Saint John Bosco greatly spread this devotion, entrusting his mission entirely to her care and inspiring generations through the Salesian Family.

Under this title, Mary is honored as a protector, guide, and source of hope who continually leads us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

Reading I
Genesis 3:9-15, 20
After Adam had eaten of the tree,
the LORD God called to him and asked him, “Where are you?”
He answered, “I heard you in the garden;
but I was afraid, because I was naked,
so I hid myself.”
Then he asked, “Who told you that you were naked?
You have eaten, then,
from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat!”
The man replied, “The woman whom you put here with me—
she gave me fruit from the tree, and so I ate it.”
The LORD God then asked the woman,
“Why did you do such a thing?”
The woman answered, “The serpent tricked me into it, so I ate it.”

Then the LORD God said to the serpent:
“Because you have done this, you shall be banned
from all the animals
and from all the wild creatures;
On your belly shall you crawl,
and dirt shall you eat
all the days of your life.
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
He will strike at your head,
while you strike at his heel.”
The man called his wife Eve,
because she became the mother of all the living.

Gospel
John 19:25-34
Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother
and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary of Magdala.
When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved,
he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”
Then he said to the disciple,
“Behold, your mother.”
And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.
After this, aware that everything was now finished,
in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled,
Jesus said, “I thirst.”
There was a vessel filled with common wine.
So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop
and put it up to his mouth.
When Jesus had taken the wine, he said,
“It is finished.”
And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

Now since it was preparation day,
in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath,
for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one,
the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken
and they be taken down.
So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first
and then of the other one who was crucified with Jesus.
But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead,
they did not break his legs,
but one soldier thrust his lance into his side,
and immediately Blood and water flowed out.
