Global Youth Day Report | March 21, 2026 |
Mahayag District

With gratitude to God, the youth gathered on Sabbath morning for a sacred season of worship in the house of the Lord. Songs of praise and earnest prayers were offered, and the message brought to the congregation was founded upon 1 Timothy 4:12, reminding the young people not to allow their youth to be despised, but rather to become examples in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity. The instruction encouraged all to reveal the character of Christ through their daily lives.

In the afternoon, the youth went forth to engage in practical ministry. A small snack booth was prepared in the public market where refreshments were shared with the community. They also joined together in a community clean-up drive, cheerfully lending their strength to improve the surroundings. Later, the group visited Mahayag Municipal Hospital, where simple gifts were distributed to patients and hospital staff. Words of encouragement and kindness were spoken, bringing comfort to those who were weary and afflicted.

As the Sabbath drew to its close, the youth returned to the church for a season of reflection and thanksgiving, recounting the blessings received throughout the day and offering gratitude to God for the privilege of service.

On Sunday morning, the spirit of helpfulness continued as the youth participated in a community tree-planting activity, contributing to the care of the environment. After their labor, they enjoyed a brief time of fellowship together at a refreshing cold spring.

In behalf of the Mahayag District Adventist Youth, we would love to express heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to those who made these activities possible. Our sincere thanks are extended to Hon. Emanuel Saladaga, Municipal Mayor of Mahayag, for graciously allowing us to conduct this event in the market. We also thank the Mahayag Engineering Office for lending the canopy tent used for our booth, and Mahayag Municipal Hospital together with Dr. Ramos for permitting us to conduct our activity in the hospital. Our gratitude is likewise extended to the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MINRO) for providing the seedlings used in the tree-planting activity.
We also extend sincere appreciation to the MACA District officers and leaders, the supportive brethren, the dedicated youth, and all who willingly shared their time, effort, and resources in making this Global Youth Day meaningful and successful. May the Lord richly bless each one who took part in this humble work of service for the community.

As the world celebrates Global Youth Day, we embraced “Communion in Action” by stepping out in faith and serving our community. From a clean-up drive to hospital visits, sharing snacks, and planting trees, every act was done with love. 🌱

Through our songs, our prayers, and even the simplest acts of kindness, we were able to touch hearts and bring hope to others. Today reminded us that service is more than just an activity, it’s a way of showing God’s love in action.

People sometimes get tired of hearing sermons. They want to see sermons. Be the difference!! What you profess to be and what you do must be congruent. Your profession will have a significant influence on secular minds. You may be the only Bible someone ever reads. Someone is watching you. Someone may say in heaven, “I am here because of you.” What does it mean to ‘be the sermon in today’s world, and how can our daily actions reflect the true power of Christianity to those who may never enter a church?
