When you memorize chunks of scripture it’s like taking a cosmic antioxidant into your brain that eats up all the corrosion and junk that you don’t even realize you have accumulated over a lifetime of exposure to demonic, carnal, and soulish thought structures.

As the Word of God takes root in your heart, it sets off like a time capsule and it comes back to you in the moment you need it in ways and in layers that you can hardly imagine.

Last Sunday we preached about praying from God's rest

Rest is possible if we are aware of God who is helping us.

Rest is connected to faith, and it is what attracts God. It attracts the hand of God, but it also attracts the presence of God and favor of God.

God is looking for people who actually trust Him, so He can do something for them.

Because most of the people on earth behave like God does not exist, and like promises of God have no application in their lives.

After the original sin of Adam and Eve, man does not see the reality of God anymore. He has withdrawn himself from the spiritual reality.

We have lost spiritual eyesight and spiritual senses.

2Ch 16:9 KJV For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

This verse tells us that God wants to show Himself faithful to people who are faithful.

God wants to show Himself strong on people's behalf, but there is not much people who are there to receive this.

God wants to be real for us.

Learning about rest and about trusting God is not just about our own benefit, but also about pleasing God.

God is looking for people for whom He is real.

2 Kings 6:8-23

Now, this miracle of God was possible for one reason - there was one man in the nation of Israel, for whom God was real. Very real.

Those angel armies existed regardless of Elisha and regardless of all the people there.

But they came and they did a miracle, because there was a man there for whom God was real.

Man who was willing to look not only with his physical eyes, but he was also willing to look with the eyes of faith.

God is not unwilling to help us in our need, but it is often us, who disqualify ourselves.

God is on the lookout. He is actively searching throughout the earth for those who have the heart which is right toward Him.

So, we need to develop our spiritual senses.

We need to develop our spiritual sight, and our spiritual taste, and our ability to sense things spiritually.

And we can do this, as children of God, if we align ourselves with faithfulness of God.

When we rely on God and His promises, we are giving Him credit. We are acknowledging His reality.

We are aligning ourselves with who God is. We acknowledge His character.

So, He will have someone here on earth who knows Him. Someone He can connect to.

God is looking for such people. People who are willing to live beyond what they can see with their natural eyes.

Psa 9:10 ISV Those who know your name will trust you, for you have not forsaken those who seek you, LORD.

But most of the people on earth remain hidden from God.

And don't care of the spiritual reality.

And, as we read, God is looking for those who are faithful.

Let's read

Gen 3:8-9 KJV 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

So, God is still looking for those who will stand in His presence and acknowledge the invisible God. And invisible reality.

God wants someone who is willing to stay in His presence. To walk with Him. To hear Him.

Joh 3:18-21 KJV 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

If we want to recognize God, to acknowledge His presence, to obey His voice, we can.

The reason that most of human race doesn't experience more of God in our lives is because we are not faithful, and we withdraw from His presence and from His promises.

Psa 9:15 KJV The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

Jud 1:19 ASV These are they who make separations, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Now, if we want to walk in God's presence, in some ways we will need to learn to walk by our spirit and heart. And not always according to our natural mind.

What does this mean?

This means sometimes our spirit will tell us to chose the direction which looks naive to our mind. To chose God. To build life on His faithfulness.

We will need to be childlike. Not cynical and sceptical.

Mat 18:2-3 ISV 2 Calling a little child forward, he had him stand among them. 3 Then he said, “I tell all of you with certainty, unless you change and become like little children, you will never get into the kingdom from heaven.

We will need to learn to walk backwards from what we are used to.

What do I mean by this?

We need to start conquering territory that we never experienced before. We need to take someone at His Word, although it contradicts all our life experience
(that Someone is God).

That is how we enter the realm that Bible calls the Kingdom of God.

Taking steps of faith, relying on God, even if it contradicts our natural mind.

Now, last time we spoke about Lazarus' resurrection. And this time I want to mention one disciple from the report about Lazarus.

I want you to pay special attention to the contrast of Jesus, and what he says about walking in the light.

And I want you to pay attention to the behavior of disciple called Thomas.

Joh 11:3-16 ISV 3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus and told him, “Lord, the one whom you love is ill.” 4 But when Jesus heard it, he said, “This illness isn’t meant to end in death. It’s for God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” 5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 Yet, when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed where he was for two more days. 7 After this, he told the disciples, “Let’s go back to Judea.” 8 The disciples told him, “Rabbi, the Jewish leaders were just now trying to stone you to death, and you are going back there again?” 9 Jesus replied, “There are twelve hours in the day, aren’t there? If anyone walks during the day he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10 But if anyone walks at night he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” 11 These were the things he said. Then after this, he told them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m leaving to wake him up.” 12 So the disciples told him, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well.” 13 Jesus, however, had been speaking about his death, but they thought that he was speaking about resting or sleeping. 14 Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus has died. 15 For your sake I’m glad that I wasn’t there, so that you may believe. But let’s go to him.” 16 Then Thomas, who was called the Twin, told his fellow disciples, “Let’s go, too, so that we may die with him!”

Now let's take a look:

9 Jesus replied, “There are twelve hours in the day, aren’t there? If anyone walks during the day he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10 But if anyone walks at night he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”

What is this comment about?

If we are not enlightened by Spirit, if we do not walk with the eyes of faith, we will stumble. Kingdom of God will make no sense to us. We will not be able to see God's purposes.

And just couple of verses further we can see disciple called Thomas. He is not applying faith in his walk, so his comment is "let us go and die with Lazarus"

He cannot discern purposes of God. He doesn't get it.

We can see that he is stumbling. He sounds desperate. He does not see.

Like Jesus said:
But if anyone walks at night he stumbles, because the light is not in him.

Now, if we look for Thomas again, in the Gospel of John, we find him in

Joh 14:2-6 ISV 2 There are many rooms in my Father’s house. If there weren’t, I wouldn’t have told you that I am going away to prepare a place for you, would I? 3 And since I’m going away to prepare a place for you, I’ll come back again and welcome you into my presence, so that you may be where I am. 4 You know where I am going, and you know the way.” 5 Thomas asked him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

We can again see Thomas is out of context. While Jesus is walking in the Spirit, and talking about spiritual reality, Thomas does not see in that realm. He cannot grasp the purposes of God. Even Christ's words sound like foreign language to him. Cause he is thinking earthly.

So, why am I telling you this? About Thomas.

Because his story has a conclusion, about how we can walk in faith and how we can see in the spiritual realm.

Let us read

Joh 20:24-29 ISV 24 Thomas, one of the Twelve (called the Twin), wasn’t with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples kept telling him, “We’ve seen the Lord!” But he told them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands, put my finger into them, and put my hand into his side, I’ll never believe!” 26 A week later, his disciples were again inside, and Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were shut, Jesus came, stood among them, and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he told Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Take your hand, and put it into my side. Stop doubting, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus told him, “Is it because you’ve seen me that you have believed? How blessed are those who have never seen me and yet have believed!”

So here is the key answer how to go from one, sensual realm which is separated from God and His Kingdom, how to go from this everyday reality, into reality where we can see in the spirit, and sense in the spirit, and walk in the prophetic realm.

How we can walk with God.

There is a principle explained by Jesus.

Jesus told him, “Is it because you’ve seen me that you have believed? How blessed are those who have never seen me and yet have believed!”

So, we need to believe God's reality BEFORE it makes sense to our natural mind. BEFORE we can see it with our natural eyes. BEFORE we can understand it with our natural understanding.

This is how we can bridge our separation from the presence of God.

Jud 1:19 ASV These are they who make separations, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Sensual means those who rely only on their natural senses and natural reasoning. Those who do not have and don't follow the light of God. Voice of God.

Sometimes trusting God means going against our experience and our logic.

Mat 18:2-3 ISV 2 Calling a little child forward, he had him stand among them. 3 Then he said, “I tell all of you with certainty, unless you change and become like little children, you will never get into the kingdom of heaven.

He says, "never get into the Kingdom of Heaven."

Those are big words.

Let us pray for humility, and let us be ruled by our spirit and faith, and let us not be anymore merely human in our walk.

Let us not lean only on our natural mind.

Let us find the courage to be childlike in our faith in God and in His Word.

In Christ Realities

We all probably heard how Lord promised that he will come and make his abode in us.

That He lives in us and that we are a house of God, or temple of God. That Holy Spirit lives on the inside of us.

And this is a source of great hope. When we are faced with our own weaknesses inside, or with big problems on the outside, we can say "greater is He who is in me, than the one who is in the world"

But there is a lot that the Bible speaks about us being in Christ.

There are realities that exist for us, as long as we are in Him.

Joh 15:1-11 AKJV 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. 2 Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches: He that stays in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you: continue you in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken to you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

So, Bible talks a lot about us IN CHRIST. And we need to look into this. What this means.

When are we in Christ, and when are we not?

When we are born in this world, we are born in which way? Are we born in Christ or in what?

We are born in Adam.

It is a biblical teaching that, when the first man, Adam, sinned and fell from God's grace, lost his position, we all, who are descendants of Adam, lost this relationship with God.

So, the curse of the fall came on ALL Adam's descendants.

Not only did Adam become mortal, but all human kind.

Rom 5:12 ULT So then, as through one man sin entered into the world, in this way death entered through sin. So death spread to all people, because all sinned.

In this same way, we inherit righteousness from one man, which is Jesus Christ.

Even though it was Adam, our forefather, who sinned, we all inherited sinfulness and death, and separation from God, and curses..

In the same way, through Christ we inherit righteousness and eternal life, and communion with God.

We don't have to do anything, all we have to do is to be in Him.

Phi 3:8-9 ULT 8 But in fact, now I count all things to be loss because of the surpassing value of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. For him I have given up all things—and I consider them rubbish—so that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness from God that is by faith.

Notice apostle Paul's goal - he considers everything rubbish so that he may gain Christ and be found in Him.

If we are in Christ, God sees us through Christ.

As if we are perfect and righteous as Christ Himself.

So, all that we need to do to bring forth fruit, is to stay in him.

When we believe Christ has bought us with His blood, we become His, and we receive Holy Spirit.

That means that the core of our being, our spirit, is blameless and perfect before God.

1Jn 2:14 ULT I have written to you, little children, because you know the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you know the one who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

So, at the spirit level, we already have victories, we are already united with God.

That is why Jesus in the book of John chapter 15 keeps telling us that the main task we have is to stay in Him.

And He will work His righteousness through us.

We don't produce good works.

When we listen to Christian messages, we need to discern where is the emphasis.

On me or on God?

On effort od man or on God's doing?

The Law was about what I will do. What I need to do.

The New Covenant is about what God has done.
About In Christ realities.

Who I am in Christ?

What is God to me in Christ?

What can I do in Christ?

If you stay in me, you will bear fruit.
Like a tree.

Does thr tree make an effort to bring forth fruit? Does it work for it?

The same is true about Jesus and His relation to the Father.

Joh 14:10-11 ULT 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak from myself, but the Father living in me is doing his work. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, or else believe because of the works themselves.

So, there is God's Indwelling.

There is a spiritual man in us.

Our spirit is born.

When we entrust our life to Jesus, our spirit man gets alive. We receive the spring of life on the inside of us.

Joh 4:14 ULT but whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. Instead, the water that I will give him will become a fountain of water in him, springing up to eternal life.”

So, we have this spring on the inside of us. And our growth is very often just cleaning up this spring of life from the garbage and pollution of the world, of the dirt of our carnality.

We don't need to do anything to please God or to be righteous. We just need to remove those things that are suffocating this spring of the Holy Spirit which us already inside of us.

Around us is Invisible world.
Demons are assigned to confuse us.

To draw us out from walking in Christ.

Do demons just try to bring us to sin?

They also work to get us to try to solve things in our strength. To walk in ourselves, independent of God, in our own strength.

We are often worried that we are not pleasing God, and we try to please God by doing better, by doing harder, because we think we can and we should be better.

Psa 18:32 ASV The God that girdeth me with strength, And maketh my way perfect?

We need to remember, that as long as we stay in Christ, not in our own effort, but in Him, God considers us as righteous as Jesus.

We need to be vary of "you should" messages that advocate our effort. Because what will happen when our effort fails?

We will become food for the devil

Prerequisite for our faith to work is to walk free from self-condemnation and guilt.

Prerequisite to come before God.

Prerequisite to have our request heard. Our prayers answered.

To be aware who we are In Christ.

So it is a tactic of the enemy to get us to work, and then to fail, and then to feel bad about ourself and to feel condemnation.

Because then our faith walk is stopped. We start being obsessed with ourselves.

Am I good? Am I bad? Am I holy enough?

Our eyes should be on God, not on ourself.

The question that God has ordained for us to be concerned with is not - an I good enough? Am I bad?

But Is Jesus righteous enough?

Do I trust that He is good enough?

That is where God wants us to put emphasis in our walk and in our problems.

We will often ruminate - did I deserve God to answer me? Am I holy enough? Am I worthy?

But the New Covenant is not in this question.

New Covenant godliness puts into every problem, into every situation, a question about God.

Is Jesus' blood righteous enough? Is Jesus good enough to redeem me?

Is His blood holy enough?

Is Jesus worthy?

Does Jesus deserve my prayer answered?

For it is no longer I.

Roman's 13:14

God has made it so that the question to ask in every situation needs to change.

If we want to be victorious.

Is God faithful?
Is Christ righteous enough ?
What God has to say?

What has God done?

And every time we ask this question, we are opening the door for the Kingdom of God.

Every time we start revolving around - what I should do, what I can or cannot do, what do I still owe God, what is my fault, what I am not good at, what I will do in the future, when we emphasize our "should" and "should not", we are putting man in the center.

We are being godless.

So, our sight should be on Him, even when we ask ourselves - are we good enough.

He is the answer.

What we should expect from God.Heb 11:6 KJV But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God ...
01/12/2020

What we should expect from God.

Heb 11:6 KJV But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

If we don't expect that God will reward our search for Him, we will not seek him whole-heartedly and diligently.

Because many worries will come in our life, our family member may get sick, our child may need money for school, our house may need fixing, and we may have different problems.

If we don't believe that God is willing and able to take care of us, we will usually first go and solve our problems ourselves in our human way, and God and His solutions will be in second place. Or third place. Or forth.

And life situations will come, more and more, and God will simply become less important.

And our solutions and our human ways are usually not the ways of God.

Our human ways and solutions are, without God, solutions of a fallen man.

Isa 55:8-9 ISV 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. 9 “For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

So we need to seek and walk in the ways of the Kingdom of God.

But to do this, we need to believe that this book has our solutions.

Mat 6:21 KJV For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

So, where is our treasure? How much do we expect from God?

Do we believe that God has enough, to be able to reward us when we lean on Him?

The Bible tells us that God is a jelaous God. He is jelaous over our heart and life. Because He is God, and He is more than enough.

God has solutions.

So, when we build our lives on human solutions, on our own devices and purely human strategies, and when we don't look for God to solve our problems, when we don't build our life on trust in God, we are leaving God in heaven, while we are continuing to live without God on earth.

But God has given us the right to build our life on His promises and on His presence.

We can expect God's favor and miracles of God.

Mat 13:44 ASV The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in the field; which a man found, and hid; and in his joy he goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Can we think about this for a moment?

This verse tells us that when we can sense what the Kingdom of Heaven is, when we understand what Christ has given us, we will see that He gave us solutions for all of our problems.

If we just leave God in heaven, and we continue to live our lives just a bit more religiously, we will miss out on our inheritance.

God wants us to walk in our inheritance.

Jesus, in the Gospels, has spoken a lot about the Kingdom of Heaven. And what do you think, did He speak just about when we die and go to heaven?

No, He brought us the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. We are called to explore this Kingdom here, in this life.

To bring it here, into this environment.

God wants us to walk in His presence here and now.

What does it mean? How can we achieve this?

Because we can 100% establish that this is God's will for us. It us not just our wishful thinking.

It is not just the reward for very special and perfect people.

It is promised to all of us.

Lord's prayer, that says "Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven" - that is not just some little verse, but instead, that is our assignment.

God gave us this assignment.

So how are we to fulfill this?

How to experience this Kingdom here in this world?

There is one principle that I have found that is important here - to leave the space for God.

We are to make space for God in our heart, in our time and in our life.

That means, to make space for God in our plans, in our relationships, in our strategies on how to build our life, in our life needs, in our daily needs.

We need to build all this as if our God is real. As if God's promises to His children are real and trustworthy.

We are to build our life on God's faithfulness.

Let us read Jesus' words from Sermon on the Mount:

Mat 5:3-12 ASV 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

What does this mean?

This speaks about people who have left important space in their lives for God. For God to solve things with His presence, with His supernatural hands.

Those who rely on God's interventions.

We need to understand our need for God. And how much our own solutions, without God, are not good enough.

We need to live like heirs.

The Bible compares Christ and the Church to husband and wife.

Now, imagine a husband who is rich, and powerful, and he has everything his wife could ever need in life.

But now imagine a wife, who would say, I have my own ways, my own solutions. I don't want your help.

And she spends all her days finding her own way to earn a living, she goes to her neighbour's to ask for things, and she just lives in her own direction.

If there are any husbands here - if you were in the place of that husband, how would you feel?

God wants us to take Him on His Holy Word. To rely on Him.

To grow in this reliance.

God wants to be our solution. Our God has all the solutions.

But He wants us to make Him our plan. To build our life on His faithfulness.

When I was in college, that was when I was praying to God, but I wasn't a Christian. I was more bargaining with God, if you answer this prayer, God, I will do this, I will improve my living, I will act better.

But I didn't surrender my life to God.

And so, He slowly led me to a place where I saw that I have nothing to negotiate with.

I don't have anything I can bargain with.

I saw my own sins, I saw that I cannot hope to fulfill any of my promises to God, to improve my life, cause my nature was sinful.

I had nothing to offer Him, for Him to answer my prayers.

God had led me to see I am bankrupt.

But then He also showed me what He is offering me.

God is offering us righteousness. He has given for us, as a sacrifice, a perfect righteous man, His Son.

We need to understand what this means. This is not merely a promise that, after we die, we will not go to Hell, but to Heaven.

I mean, that is really big, but what we get from Christ is much bigger.

This is why it is important to read all the Bible, not just the New Testament.

We need to understand the context when God tells us that we are made righteous before Him.

Rom 4:4-8 ASV 4 Now to him that worketh, the reward is not reckoned as of grace, but as of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is reckoned for righteousness. 6 Even as David also pronounceth blessing upon the man, unto whom God reckoneth righteousness apart from works, 7 saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not reckon sin.

If we take a look at what this righteousness means, righteousness before God, it determines whole God's attitude toward us.

It determines how God thinks of us, how he looks at us.

It determines how the angels of God see us and treat us.

It is written about angels

Heb 1:14 KJV Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

So, what it means, that if you are righteous, all the heaven armies are on your side.

When God looks at us, he sees a righteous person.

We can approach God as if we are without any sin. When God looks at us, He sees Jesus.

Gal 3:26-29 KJV 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Other translation says,

Gal 3:27 ISV Indeed, all of you who were baptized into the Messiah have clothed yourselves with the Messiah.

So, when God looks at us, he doesn't see our sins, our failures, our weaknesses.

He doesn't see that.

He gave His Son for us.

So that when he looks at Tonino, or when He looks at Elora, or when He looks at you, He sees His only Son, who is blameless and perfect in His eyes.

When we are in need, we have Heaven open to us.
We can come before God's throne as God's beloved children in prayer, and we have promise that He will hear us.

Our prayers can open Heaven.

And as we live our life, and years pass, we can expect that God is here for us.

As any father and mother will be for their children.

We can rely that our life will be under favor by God.

Let's take couple of minutes to thank God for His promises and His presence and His favor in our lives.

Let us tell him we want to lean on Him and on His ways in our lives.

Let us welcome Him and His solutions into our life.

In our own words.
