Boundless 2.0: Hope Magnified
"We should trust God, for He is omnipresent."
- Sis. Lorna Patan-ao, Speaker at San Jose Parish
The SDDGYM of Sto. Domingo De Guzman Mision Station participated in Boundless 2.0: Hope Magnified, a meaningful celebration of the Jubilee of the Youth and Young Adults, last October 11.
Youth from various parishes gathered at designated host parishes for the morning activities. The SDDGYM delegates were assigned to San Jose Parish at San Jose, Tacloban City, Leyte. Fr. Reynaldo Jostol gave the delegates a brief introduction to the parish.'s history. He reminded them of three key points: to be emotionally stable, to remain optimistic, and to be independent. He also warmly welcomed the delegates.
Delegates at San Jose Parish got acquainted with one another through an interactive activity called Appointment Ticket. Each participant had to identify five delegates from different parishes to complete specific assigned tasks.
Sis. Lorna Patan-ao (Faces of Hope Speaker, a Former Youth Minister) highlighted the concept of Faces of Hope through sharing her personal faith encounters. She never give up in life and held on to a strong hope that every challenge would eventually be overcome. After her talk, the delegates were grouped into teams of three, with members from different parishes, to share and reflect on her message.
At 12NN, all delegates were gathered at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Sto. Niño to attend the second part of the event - the Holy Eucharestic Mass celebrated by Archbishop John F. Du. In his homily, he emphasized that we are called to be hopeful not only for ourselves, but also to be a source of hope and inspiration for others. He also addresssed the delegates regarding the sudden changes in the event, stating that everyone's safety is more important than anything else. The event had to end early due to the series of earthquakes occuring in the region.
In this BOUNDLESS 2.0: Hope Magnified, we are reminded to place our unwavering hope in Him, no matter how challenging life may be. As it is written in Isaiah 60:22 - "When the time is right, I the Lord, will make it happen."
