Discipling Another to Love Jesus International

Discipling Another to Love Jesus International Two serious concerns have plagued most, if not all, Christian churches:
1.

Guided by both the Great Commission and the Greatest Commandment, Discipling Another To Love Jesus is a ministry organization that envisions transforming individuals through one-on-one discipleship. Why do so many new believers fail to reach maturity in Christ and walk out the back door of the church after a few short months?
2. And though most Christians in the church want to help nurture new be

lievers, would they know exactly what to do to be able to maximize the chances that these new believers would reach maturity in Christ? Because of this, our team would like to invite you and your church to join us as we rediscover the lost art of discipleship, particularly, one-on-one discipleship, enabling willing disciplers to disciple new believers in the first three months of their Christian walk, addressing the common struggles of new believers: doubt, wrong priorities, falling into temptation and sin, not knowing God’s will, and the spiritual disciplines of prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and evangelism - following a written, easy-to-follow, ten lesson workbook.

Verse of the Week:

"Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you." – James 1:21

With the whole world currently in multiple crises, we can’t help but notice that everyone around us is also in crises. Many are carrying physical, emotional, mental, and financial burdens. Everyday, we see proof that struggle is part of the daily human story, of which, none of us are exempt.

Most of the time, struggles can make us vulnerable, like sitting ducks waiting to be attacked by the enemy. On many occasions, we feel cornered, so we search every corner of our minds for a way out, but cannot seem to find one. In these desperate moments, temptation often creeps in, disguising itself as the easiest way out. It offers quick relief, but little do we know that we may be quietly opening doors to greater pain and deeper trouble. Temptation is pleasure for a moment, but consequences for a lifetime.

So what do we do in these moments of struggle and desperation? First, we begin by humbly acknowledging our human weakness, for pride often goes before a fall. Second, we must keep in step with and stay close to the Word of God. Humbly accept the word planted in you, for it has the power to save you.

The Bible calls us to read, study, and meditate on God’s Word daily so that we may hear, understand, and obey it. And yet, the stresses of life often convince us that we simply have no time for it. The truth however is, it is precisely on the days when we feel too tired, too busy, or too consumed by problems, that we need His Word the most.

When we think about God’s Word, we must remember that it is not the last resort. It is, in fact, the source of all wisdom - God’s wisdom. He generously gives this to all who ask.

May we remember what we have read and also do it, so we may be blessed in all that we do. 🩵💙

Life and Light Christian Ministries (LLCM) GenSan successfully hosted the "Discipling Another to Love Jesus Conference" on May 16, 2026 at General Santos City, South Cotabato! 🙌🏼 Forty-one pastors and church leaders from various churches came together with the same goal in mind: to make disciples who genuinely love Jesus.

The conference emphasized the importance of 1-on-1 discipleship, building intentional relationships, and the powerful reminder that “Everyone Can Do This.”

Participants were encouraged that discipleship is not only for a few gifted leaders. Instead, it is a calling that every believer must respond to.

Hearts were moved to action as a fresh vision for discipling another to love Jesus was laid before the Church. 🩵💙

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” – Romans 12:1

We may think worship only happens through church songs or Sunday services. But God sees the ordinary moments — our attitude, discipline, choices, and quiet obedience.

God invites us to surrender not just our words, but our whole lives.

Maybe today God is asking you to:

• rest instead of constantly overworking yourself
• pray before reacting emotionally
• honor Him in private, not only in public
• let go of habits that drain your peace
• choose discipline even when nobody notices
• speak gently when frustration wants to take over
• spend time with Him before scrolling endlessly

We all have areas that need surrender. God is not asking for perfection. He desires hearts that are willing, surrendered, and growing.

Every small act of obedience matters to God. Even the quiet choices nobody sees can become worship when offered to Him.

So today, ask yourself:“What part of my life can I surrender to God today?” 🩵💙

This is Kirsten Angel Cataytay, a discipler from Life and Light Christian Ministries, Cebu City, Philippines.

When asked about how her life changed when she decided to make Jesus her top priority, she said:

"Deciding to prioritize Jesus in my life really brought changes in me. I found a sense of peace that stayed with me no matter what was happening. Challenges turned into opportunities, my mistakes turned into lessons, and negatives turned into positives.

I started focusing on doing things that would honor Jesus. I find myself more sensitive to His presence and more committed to aligning my life with His teachings.

Always choose Jesus!" 🩵💙

Values and Actions

Everyone seems to be going on vacations because of the scorching summer heat. 40 degrees Celsius is hot.

When you don't prepare for a trip, you don't expect it to go smoothly. If you want to go and explore another town or country then you have to make time to research the best places and best deals. You don't just go on a whim and expect things to go well, not to mention all the things you need to pack.

Therefore, if you want something, you work for it.

In the same way, when we focus on Jesus, we find ourselves losing taste for sin. This is not because of fear but because our love for Jesus motivates us to value Him more than the temporary pleasures of sinful actions.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” – ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ ‭ESV‬‬

How we act is based on what we value. Saying YES to Jesus means that you are saying NO to sin. This will show in how you live.

As you continue on your journey with Jesus, expect nothing less than the best. 🩵💙

Reading Romans 12 (Part 1)

First section: Mercy!

"Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship (v. 1, NASB)."

As a radical and just-saved believer, Romans 12:1 became my Christian “life cry” as I wanted to present myself as a living — not dead — sacrifice to God. My life purpose and all my desires should be a “spiritual service of worship” focused on God.

Then, I discovered that Romans 12 teaches an unusual pattern of growth.

I’ve heard coach-types say, “Change your mind, and your actions will follow.” This chapter teaches the opposite by “presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice” or “change our actions, then our minds will follow.”

It’s true — love, and you will want to love; give, and you will want to give; pray, and you will want to pray. And in this “action-before-mind” attitude pattern of spiritual maturity, we discover God’s will for our lives. . .

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect (v. 2)."

To summarize: Romans 12:1-2 focuses on God’s mercy or the withholding of the consequences of failure through which we develop the grateful discipleship of serving Him in a good, acceptable, and perfect manner by actions yielding a renewed mind that reveals God’s will. 🩵💙

Verse of the Week:

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” – Romans 12:1

Do you sometimes wonder whether you are growing or declining in your faith?
We think we have already graduated from one temptation, then we slowly find out that we’re struggling with another.

Could it be that as our relationship with God deepens, we become more honest about what’s truly in our hearts? As in human relationships, we probably feel safer and slowly let go of our masks, revealing not only our godly desires, but also our earthly entanglements.

At the start of our faith journey, we may have struggled with the lust of the eyes, always chasing what looked good or what other people had. Over time, maybe pride quietly revealed itself, and we can’t seem to control the urge to always be right or even to feel desired and adored. For some, it may even happen the other way around.

Romans 12:1 calls us to be living sacrifices — living, because we are more than dead lambs on the altar. We are actually thinking, talking, walking sacrifices.

God already knew we could never be perfect. But what He is calling us to do in this verse, in response to His mercy and empowered by it, is to live our lives in a manner that glorifies Him and aligns our hearts with His will — His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

While this is a tall ask, and one that we will struggle with as we live in this sinful world, when we look back on our journey so far, yes, we will see our stumbles and detours.

However, we will also see His great love, His amazing grace, and His peace that settles upon us throughout both the victories and the struggles.

Through all of these, we will know even more that we are loved, we are thought of, we are cared for, and we are undeniably saved. 🩵💙

“Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” – Philippians 2:12-13

Paul reminds believers that spiritual growth is both our responsibility and God’s work within us.

“Work out your salvation” does not mean earning salvation by good works. It means living out the faith God has already placed in us — daily choosing obedience, humility, and dependence on Him.

“Fear and trembling” speaks of reverence, sincerity, and taking our walk with God seriously.

The beautiful part of this verse, however, is this: we are not left to change on our own. God Himself works in us.

This transformation is a product of our small daily habits.

So this week, let's be intentional in the little but important things:

✔ choose honesty when cheating is easier
✔ pray instead of immediately worrying
✔ control your words when angry
✔ stay faithful during quiet seasons
✔ forgive even when it hurts

Growth is not instant perfection. It is daily surrender while God continues His work in us.

Don’t just ask God to change your situation — ask Him to shape your character too. 🩵💙
