RAPTURE vs. SECOND COMING

A. INTRODUCTION

1. God has 2 Elects: Israel and Believers in Christ (The Church or the Bride of Jesus Christ)

2. And God has 2 Covenants/Agreements for these 2 Elects:

a. Covenant of the Law (Old Testament/Covenant) is for Israel (12 Tribes of Jacob)

b. Covenant of Grace (New Testament/Covenant) is for the whole world (Israel and Gentiles)

3. This is why Jesus' Second Coming has 2 Phases:

a. For the Believers in Christ - To bring them all to Heaven - each with gloirified body, soul and spirit - through the RAPTURE (before the 7 years of Tribulation/God's Wrath here on Earth; John 14, 1 Cor 15, 1 Thess 5)

b. For Israel - To save Israel - militarily and spiritually - at the end of the 7 years of Tribulation here on Earth; Daniel 9, Zech 12, Matthew 24)

B. So, "WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RAPTURE & THE SECOND COMING?

There are eight contrasts between the two.

THE NATURE OF THE SECOND COMING – The fact that the Rapture and the Second Coming are seen as two separate events, shows that they can’t be simultaneous. This destroys the post-tribulation Rapture theory. Let’s look at these differences:

1. AT THE RAPTURE (1 Thess 5): The saints meet Christ in the air.

AT THE SECOND COMING: Christ returns to earth. (Zech. 12, Rev 19)

2. AT THE RAPTURE: The Mount of Olives is untouched.

AT THE SECOND COMING: The Mount of Olives splits

3. AT THE RAPTURE: Living saints are translated (with glorified bodies fit for Heaven/Eternity)

AT THE SECOND COMING: No saints are translated.

4. AT THE RAPTURE: The body goes to heaven.

AT THE SECOND COMING: The body comes back to earth.

5. AT THE RAPTURE: Christ comes for His saints. (1 Thess. 5)

AT THE SECOND COMING: Christ comes with His saints (Rev. 19), to save Israel.

6. AT THE RAPTURE: The world is not judged and sin gets worse.

AT THE SECOND COMING: The world is judged and sin is dealt with.

7. AT THE RAPTURE: This is not preceded by detailed signs or warnings.

AT THE SECOND COMING: This is preceded by specific detailed signs. (Mattew 24)

8. AT THE RAPTURE: Concerns only the saved.

AT THE SECOND COMING: Concerns the saved and the lost."

C. CONCLUSION

Now, ARE YOU READY to meet our Lord God - JESUS CHRIST?

To GOD Be All Glory!

ON GIVING, HEALING and MORE

🌹John D Rockfeller was once the richest man in the world. The first billionaire in the world. By age 25, he controlled one of the largest oil refineries in the US. By age 31, he had become the world’s largest oil refiner. By age 38, he commanded 90% of the oil refined in the U.S.
By 50, he was the richest man in the country. As a young man, every decision, attitude, and relationship was tailored to create his personal power and wealth.

🌹But at the age of 53, he became ill. His entire body became racked with pain and he lost all of his hair. In complete agony, the world’s only billionaire could buy anything he wanted, but he could only digest soup and crackers. An associate wrote, He could not sleep, would not smile and nothing in life meant anything to him. His personal, highly skilled physicians predicted he would die within a year. That year passed agonizingly slowly.

🌹As he approached death he awoke one morning with the vague realisation of not being able to take any of his wealth with him into the next world. The man who could control the business world suddenly realized he was not in control of his own life. He was left with a choice.

🌹He called his attorneys, accountants, and managers and announced that he wanted to channel his Assets to Hospitals, Research, and Charity work. John D. Rockefeller
established his Foundation. This new direction eventually led to the discovery of penicillin, cures for malaria, tuberculosis, and diphtheria.

🌹But perhaps the most amazing part of Rockefeller’s story is that the moment he began to give back a portion of all that he had earned, his body’s chemistry was altered so significantly that he got better. It looked as if he would die at 53 but he lived to be 98. Rockefeller learned gratitude and gave back the vast majority of his wealth. Doing so made him whole. It is one thing to be healed. It is another to be made whole.

🌹Before his death, he wrote this in his dairy, “God taught me, that everything belongs to Him, and I am only a channel to comply His wishes. My life has been one long, happy holiday thereafter; Full of work and full of play, I dropped the worry, on the way, and God was good to me every day.”

A message for all of us!🙏

13/10/2022

GOD'S LOVE and MAN'S LOVE

Can love materialize with only one person?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSES

Rom 8:28-30 ISV 28 And we know that FOR THOSE WHO LOVE GOD, that is, for those who are called according to his purpose, all things are working together for good. 29 For those whom he FOREKNEW he also PREDESTINED to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that the Son might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also CALLED; and those whom he called, he also JUSTIFIED; and those whom he justified he also GLORIFIED.

B. KEY POINTS TO PONDER

1. Love is a 2-way process and it involves 2 parties.

2. Love is not dictated, coerced or forced - it's based on one's free will. When the first party proposed, the other party must say, " I Do.", for the love/marriage to materialize.

3. God loves us first - even if we and when we are still sinners.

Rom 5:8 ISV But GOD demonstrates his LOVE for US by the fact that the Messiah died for us while we were still sinners.

Joh 3:16 KJV FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

4. When you and I love God - by believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord - then, our love relationship with God is established (FORKNEW).

C. CONCLUSION

1. God loves the world - all people - first.

2. When you love God back or For those who love God (those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord) ...

a. God foreknew us. (Knowlege beforehand; And it also pertains to the intimate love/sexual relationship between husband and wife.)

b. He predestined us. (To be Christ-like with Heaven as the ultimate eternal destiny of Believers.)

c. He called us. (Believers are called adopted sons and daughters of God.)

d. He justified us. (Declared Not Guilty by Father God or No more Penalty for Sins of Believers.)

e. God glorified us. (Believers will be provided with resurrected/glorified bodies designed for eternal life in Heaven where there's No Presence of Sin.)

NOTE: All the verbs mentioned above are in the past tense. Why? Because, as far as All-knowing God is concerned, salvation from Hell or the Believer going to Heaven for all eternity is a done deal. It is finished!

GOD'S PERFECT TIMING

Do I trust God and His timing?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSE

"But when the FULLNESS OF TIME had come, God sent forth His Son, born of woman, born under the law."
− (Galatians 4:4, ESV)

B. REFLECTION:

Am I tired of waiting for harvest time in my life?

Do I trust God's perfect timing in my life, OR do I sometimes doubt and think that "I know better" than Him?

Do I not believe that He is absolutely precise in His timing?

Am I oftentimes frustrated, crying out, and tempted to ask "When, Lord, when?"

C. ACTION POINT:

I may have my own plans for myself, but God knows better -- I must grow in the area of TRUSTING GOD rather than questioning "When?"

I need to perceive that God's timing in my life is oftentimes hard to grasp and understand; He doesn't do things on my own timetable. But His Word promises that "He will NEVER be late, not one single day.”(Habakkuk 2:3)

God always makes everything happen at the RIGHT TIME -- in the fullness of His time. His awesome perfect record of precise timing should be enough to remind me that He is all-knowing and that I should never doubt Him.

To have faith in God is to also have faith in His timing. I will find joy and peace in the Lord and praise JESUS, for His TIMING in my life is always...PERFECT! 🙏

GRACE and GOOD WORKS

Grace and Good Works are 2 sides of the same coin. They go together.

Only by Grace (through faith) will get us to Heaven, while Good Works will get us Rewards/Crowns in Heaven.

Eph 2:8-10 NET 8 For by GRACE you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 it is not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for GOOD WORKS that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.

Therefore, our two (2) key Goals while we still live here on Earth are:

1. To surely get to Heaven someday, forever - via God's Grace alone through Faith in Jesus Christ only,

Joh 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVEth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

AND

2. To get Commendation and eternal Rewards/Crowns in Heaven from our Lord God Jesus Christ - via our Good Works here on Earth.

Mat 25:21 NET His master answered, ‘WELL DONE, good and faithful slave! You have been faithful in a few things. I WILL PUT YOU IN CHARGE OF MANY THINGS. Enter into the joy of your master.’

REMEMBER, God's primary business here on Earth is to win souls of men and women for His kingdom. Let us therefore, share the Gospel of God's Grace, make Disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28: 19-20) who will also make Disciples in the future, while waiting for the Blessed Hope - when glorious Jesus Christ comes to bring us to Heaven, each of us with a glorified body, soul and spirit. (1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18).

IN SUM, you and I are SAVED by God's GRACE, and you and I are eternally REWARDED by God for our GOOD WORKS here on Earth.

To GOD Be All Glory!

ETERNAL GOAL

Would you be a well done, good and faithful Servant?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSE

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'”
(Matthew 25:21, NIV)

B. REFLECTION:

Do I think of the day that I will stand before God and answer for what I did with the talents He gave me?

And what words do I hope to hear Him say to me on that day?

What must I do so that I may someday hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant” when I arrive in heaven?

C. ACTION POINT:

Someday in heaven, I long to hear those words from JESUS’ lips. No true servant of the Lord could ask for more.

I will faithfully serve God and my fellow believers with the gifts He has blessed me with. I will be more committed and devoted in serving the Servant King... by serving others.

I will live intentionally and with purpose so that I can be prepared, so that God will one day welcome me as a good and faithful servant, to share in His JOY forever.

My faithfulness doesn’t depend on how little or how much I have, but what I do with it. It doesn't matter how small my gift is, but what matters is that I continue to FAITHFULLY SERVE a big God as I heed my Savior's call.

I will serve the LORD with gladness (Psalm 100:2). I shall aspire to be a good steward today, and tomorrow and every day.

I am entrusted now with little, but soon, very soon, MUCH IS COMING! 🙏

HONORING GOD

Do I honor God? How?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSE

"Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the FIRST of all your produce"
−(Proverbs 3:9, NASB)

B. REFLECTION:

Do I put God FIRST in my life?

Do I acknowledge and recognize Him as the rightful Owner of all that I possess?

How am I in terms of giving back to the Lord what is due unto Him?

What is my motive in giving? Do I feel as though I am pressured to give?

C. ACTION POINT:

Our God who is Almighty, all-sovereign, and all-knowing is the rightful Owner of the world, everything in it, and all who live in it including myself.(Psalm 24:1)

God, who is the "first and best", must have the first and best of everything in my life; His right is my priority above others and therefore He must be served first.

God wants my heart more than anything else. I will honor Him because He is first in my life, He deserves it and all my praises belong to Him.

To honor Him, I will offer and give back the "first fruits" of all that He has blessed me with. I will give God my FIRST and BEST... so that He can bless the REST! 🙏

To GOD Be All Glory!

P. S. The Firstfruits are for our Lord (and His Church) and not for the Pastor (and his Family).

GOD'S PLAN FOR YOU

Which one is better: Your Plan or God's Plan?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSE

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
−(Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

B. REFLECTION:

What does it mean when God says that He knows the plans He has for me?

During these emotionally and physically stressful times, do these words uplift and give me comfort?

C. ACTION POINT:

As I continue my life’s journey and face these hard and challenging times, it is encouraging to be reminded that my loving and Almighty God has a plan for my life.

God knows that only if I stop depending on earthly destructive securities, and instead rest my trust entirely on Christ JESUS my Lord, will I break free from the yoke of this world's slavery.

I will take comfort in Jeremiah 29:11 knowing that it is not a promise to immediately rescue me from hardship, pain or suffering, but rather a promise that God has a plan for my life and regardless of my current situation, He can work through it to prosper me and give me a hope and a future.

I will cling to His promises in times of trials and hardships, because He desires the best for me as His child. Whenever problems occur in this earthly life, I will always find refuge in the Word of God, including Jeremiah 29:11.

All glory to our ever FAITHFUL GOD! 🙏

BLESSED HOPE

Who or What is your Hope?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSE

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose HOPE is the LORD."
−(Jeremiah 17:7, NKJV)

B. REFLECTION:

Where do I put my hope?

What hope do I have?

Is there a huge difference between my life in Christ now, and my life back when I used to put my hope in myself and in other things?

C. ACTION POINT:

Biblical HOPE does not only desire something good for the future, but is also a positive expectation of something good that is SURE to happen.

The Christian hope is hope in God in JESUS CHRIST. It is the confident affirmation that God is faithful and that He will complete what He has begun.

My faith should have a full assurance of hope. Day by day, I will place my trust in Him -- not in people and other things, but in JESUS. My life is supremely better now that my hope is in Him.

I will never go back to that life where JESUS was NOT my hope. "For You are my God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long." (Psalm 25:5)

Tit 2:11-13 ISV 11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. 12 It trains us to renounce ungodly living and worldly passions so that we might live sensible, honest, and godly lives in the present age 13 as we wait for the BLESSED HOPE and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior, Jesus the Messiah.

Yes, my soul finds rest and BLESSED HOPE... IN CHRIST ALONE!

PREACH THE GOSPEL

Am I eager to do so?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSE

"...so I am eager to PREACH the GOSPEL to you also who are in Rome."
−(Romans 1:15, RSV)

B. REFLECTION:

Like the Apostle Paul, do I have a willing mind and an eagerness to share the Gospel to those who have not heard it?

Do I have the passion and desire to lead others to JESUS?

Is there readiness in my mind to do the work of preaching the Gospel, whatever difficulties may stand in my way?

C. ACTION POINT:

As a follower of JESUS, I have been entrusted with the heavenly mission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

I will follow the example of the Apostle Paul in sharing the Good News to others. There may be times when I feel discouraged, unworthy, and scared, but by God's grace I will overcome.

Now that I have experienced His grace, love, and forgiveness, I will help point others to JESUS so that they too may experience the same.

By the power of the Holy Spirit in me, "I will go into the world and PREACH the GOSPEL to everyone!"(Mark 16:15)

Thank You Lord JESUS that You are with me to the END OF THE AGE! 🙏

WINNING the WAR WITHIN

Who lives in you?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSE

“…knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for the one who has died is freed from sin.”
−(Romans 6:6‭-‬7 NASB)

B. REFLECTION:

Since my sins have already been forgiven, does this mean that I can just continue to live in sin?

How do I see myself? How can I have a proper view of myself and why is this important?

Is there any habitual sin God is asking me to surrender?

C. ACTION POINT:

Yes, my sins from the past, present, and future have already been forgiven. But this does not give me the license to continue living in sin. Rather, because I have been cleansed and am now alive in Christ, I am compelled to live a transformed life by His grace.

The enemy might keep pulling me back but Paul reminds me in Romans 6 that I can WIN THE WAR WITHIN by:

- knowing my new life (v3-4),

- knowing my new freedom (v5-9), and

- living out my new life (v10-24).

Through Christ's sanctification, I have new life and new freedom. I shall give my life to Him, die to my old self, and find newness of life in Him who has made me into a new creation and freed me from the bo***ge of sin.

I can defeat the enemy and overcome my sinful nature because it is no longer I who lives but Christ who lives in me. He sanctifies me, gives me the power to live righteously, and gives me the strength..

To VICTORY in YOUR WAR WITHIN! 🙏

ARE YOU LIGHT

Does your Light shine?

A. KEY BIBLE VERSE

"Let your LIGHT shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
−(Matthew 5:16, NASB)

B. REFLECTION:

What does JESUS mean when He says "light"?

Do I live my life such that people around can see the work of Christ in me?

In what ways can people see that light in me?

C. ACTION POINT:

JESUS calls Himself "the light of the world". I will have that Light shining through my life by leading a Christ-like life...that is, setting an example and being different, such that others too may be moved to love, serve, and honor God.

I will constantly walk in the Spirit and let the Word of Christ dwell in me richly. May others see Christ's work in me and may I be able to point others to Him.

I will make sure that the light of Christ in my heart will shine brightly before men, so that they may see the good works that I do in His power and strength – and glorify Him, my Lord and my God.

JESUS is the LIGHT that shines in the darkness. (John 1:4-5). I will let JESUS SHINE through my life! 🙏
