💡 A Wake-Up Call: Don’t Wait for Breaking Points to Seek God
“The things that can be shaken will be removed, so that the things that cannot be shaken may remain.”
- Hebrews 12:27 -
We often find ourselves remembering God most clearly when life stops making sense.
When earthquakes come, sickness strikes, tragedy hits, or fear takes over—when everything we trusted suddenly feels uncertain—those who rarely pray begin to call on His name.
Maybe that’s because deep down, we know a truth we often try to ignore: we are not in control.
No amount of money can stop disaster.
No title can protect us from death.
No achievement can guarantee tomorrow.
No possession can last forever.
One moment everything seems secure, and the next, life reminds us how fragile we really are.
The shaking of this world reminds us that we are not as powerful as we think. What we proudly call “mine” can disappear in an instant. Careers, accomplishments, savings, properties, and plans are all temporary.
Everything we have has been entrusted to us by God for a season.
That’s why times of uncertainty should not only make us check our surroundings—they should make us examine our hearts.
Have we become too attached to what won’t last?
Have we relied more on ourselves than on God?
Have we forgotten the One who gives every blessing we enjoy?
Perhaps the greatest tragedy is not losing earthly things, but living as if we don’t need God until something goes wrong.
If shaking brings us back to God, may we not wait for shaking to start seeking Him.
Don’t wait for breaking points to build your prayer life. Let God not be your last resort, but your first response. May we seek Him not only in shaking, but in every season He gives.
