GET UP!

"Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”
— John 5:8 KJV

The man at the pool of Bethesda had been suffering for 38 years. He was helpless, had no one to help him, and had become trapped in a cycle of waiting. But when Jesus came, He gave him a command: “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”

Herod also heard the truth from John, but hearing did not lead him to full obedience. Pride, pressure, and the desire to please others became barriers to doing what was right.

The lesson is clear:

1. RISE — Rise above discouragement, the past, and spiritual sleep.

2. TAKE UP THY BED — Let what once represented weakness become a testimony of God’s grace.

3. WALK — Don’t stop at getting up. Continue walking in the new life Christ gives.

Hearing the Word is not enough. When Jesus speaks, we must move.
