Oratio Imperata for Protection From the Dangers of the Incoming Typhoon
(Diocese of Maasin)
Leader: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen.
Leader: Almighty and merciful Father, we come to You in our need to seek Your protection against the threat of the approaching typhoon. We acknowledge our sins and ask for Your mercy and forgiveness.
All: Lord, have mercy on us.
Leader: We pray that You calm the winds and the seas, and spare us from harm and destruction. Protect all those in the path of the storm—especially the poor, the vulnerable, and those who have nowhere to go.
All: Shelter us, O Lord, under Your loving care.
Leader: Strengthen and guide those who work for our safety—our government leaders, disaster response teams, and volunteers who serve with courage and compassion. Grant them wisdom, strength, and perseverance.
All: Lord, bless the works of their hands.
Leader: We entrust to Your loving protection our families, our homes, our communities, and our Diocese of Maasin. May this time of trial bring us closer to You and deepen our faith and trust in Your providence.
All: Lord, make us instruments of Your peace and hope.
Leader: Through the intercession of Our Lady of the Assumption, Among Mahal nga Patrona, patroness of our Diocese, and of all the angels and saints, keep us safe from harm and lead us always to Your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.
All: Amen.
