Brothers and Sisters in Christ, there will be a Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary tomorrow at 6:30AM and a procession in the evening of the image of Our Lady of Namacpacan at 6:00pm. We invite everyone to join, to pray and to ask the maternal protection of our Blessed Mother from CoViD-19. We also remind everyone to strictly follow the minimum health protocols being implemented by our Local Government Unit.

JULY 29 | MEMORIAL OF STS. MARY, MARTHA AND LAZARUS OF BETHANY

Mary of Bethany is a biblical figure mentioned only by name in the Gospel of John in the Christian New Testament. Together with her siblings Lazarus and Martha, she is described by John as living in the village of Bethany, a small village in Judaea to the south of the Mount of Olives near Jerusalem.

JULY 26 | MEMORIAL OF STS. JOACHIM AND ANNE, PARENTS OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Sts. Joachim and Anne, are venerated by the Church as the parents of the Virgin Mary. All information about the two saints comes from the 'Gospel of James', an apocryphal book of the second century.

Anne, whose name means 'Grace', was probably informed by an angel that the daughter she was about to conceive would be spoken of in all the world. In the sixth century a church was dedicated to her in Constantinople, and from the Middle Ages her veneration became very popular.

Joachim, who has been honored since the 6th Century, is often represented as teaching little Mary to read the Scriptures.

PRAYER

O Lord, God of our Fathers, who bestowed on Saints Joachim and Anne this grace, that of them should be born the Mother of your incarnate Son, grant, through the prayers of both, that we may attain the salvation you have promised to your people. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

Let us remember!

Walang aklat ang nagsasabi kung ano ang tamang paraan ng pagbibihis sa mga banal na imahen, pero hindi ito dahilan upang magpabaya. Narito ang ilang mungkahi upang itaas ang antas ng paggalang sa mga ito lalo na tuwing nagpapalit at nagbibihis ng kasuotan. Laging tandaan na ang pagkilala sa sagradong imahen ay tungo sa mga kinakatawang Santa, Santo, Mahal na Birhen at Panginoong Jesu-Kristo.

Ang pagpapanatili ng Camarero sa imahen ng mga banal na personahe ay aestetikong anyo ng kultura ng Pananahan. Ayon sa National Commission for Culture and the Arts (2018), ito ay kinapapalooban ng sining ng pagburda, pag-encarna, paggayak ng carroza, at masusing atensiyon sa pagbibihis ng imahen. Samantala, ang pag-aasikaso sa mga Santo ay isang kultura ng Pamamanata kung saan ang pribadong deboto o pamilya ay nakikibahagi sa mga gawain ng Simbahan. Ito ay pahayag ng pananampalataya bilang debosyon.

JULY 22 | FEAST OF ST. MARY MAGDALENE

Mary Magdalene, sometimes called Mary of Magdala, or simply the Magdalene or the Madeleine, was a woman who, according to the four canonical gospels, traveled with Jesus as one of his followers and was a witness to his crucifixion and its aftermath. Mary was one of the few who remained with Christ during His agony on the Cross. She visited His tomb with two other women and found it empty. It was to her that our Lord first appeared after His Resurrection. He asked her to announce His Resurrection to the Apostles.

PRAYER:

Saint Mary Magdalene,
woman of many sins, who by conversion
became the beloved of Jesus,
thank you for your witness
that Jesus forgives
through the miracle of love.

You, who already possess eternal happiness
in His glorious presence,
please intercede for me, so that some day
I may share in the same everlasting joy.

JULY 16 | FEAST OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, or Virgin of Carmel, is the title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in her role as patroness of the Carmelite Order. The first Carmelites were Christian hermits living on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land during the late 12th and early to mid-13th century.

PRAYER:

O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendour of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me this my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein you are my Mother.
O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart, to succour me in this necessity; there are none that can withstand your power.
O, show me herein you are my Mother, O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. (3 times)
Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands. (3 times)

Our Lady of Mount Carmel,
Pray for us.
