VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur — Upon the approval of the Bishops of Northern Luzon, the Very Rev. Fr. Andres F. Nuesca Jr., SThL, was formally installed as the 10th Diocesan Rector of the Immaculate Conception School of Theology (ICST), the Regional Seminary for Northern Luzon.

The installation took place today, August 10, 2026, during the Holy Spirit Mass marking the opening of the Formation Year 2026–2027. The installation ceremony was presided over by the Most Rev. David William V. Antonio, SThD, DD, Archbishop of Nueva Segovia & Bishop-Chairman of ICST board of Bishops.

Fr. Andres succeeds the Most Rev. Nick A. Vaquilar, SThD, DD, who served as Rector of ICST before his appointment as the Bishop of the Diocese of Urdaneta.

With his new appointment, Fr. Andres assumes the responsibility of leading the ICST community in its mission of forming future priests for the Church in Northern Luzon. His installation ushers in a new chapter in the continuing mission of ICST as a regional seminary, accompanying seminarians in their journey toward priestly configuration.

The ICST community warmly welcomes Fr. Andres F. Nuesca Jr., SThL, as its new rector and entrusts his ministry to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Maternal protection of the Immaculately Conceived Virgin Mary. May his leadership strengthen the seminary’s commitment to forming holy, mature, and dedicated servants of the Church.
