Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje

Ang Birhen ng Antipolo ay kilala rin bilang ang Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje), isa sa pinakatanyag na debosyon kay Maria sa Pilipinas. Ang kanyang milagrosong imahen ay nakadambana sa Antipolo Cathedral.

* Dinala ang imahen mula sa Mexico noong 1626 ni Governor-General Juan Niño de Tabora sakay ng galyong El Almirante.

* Iniuugnay ng mga deboto ang ligtas na paglalayag sa Karagatang Pasipiko sa pamamagitan ng kanyang pamamagitan, kaya tinawag siyang Ina ng Kapayapaan at Mabuting Paglalakbay.

* Ang imahen ay naging patrona ng mga manlalakbay, mandaragat, at mga Pilipinong humihingi ng gabay sa kanilang paglalakbay.

Natatanging Katangian

* Isa itong sinaunang kahoy na imahen na may maitim na kutis, kaya’t madalas itong ituring na isang “Black Madonna.”

* Noong 1926, ito ay kanonikong kinoronahan sa bisa ng pahintulot ni Pope Pius XI.

* Noong 2024, pinagkalooban ni Pope Francis ng Golden Rose, isa sa pinakamataas na parangal na ibinibigay sa mga Marian shrine.

Kapistahan

Ang pangunahing kapistahan ng Birhen ng Antipolo ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing unang Martes ng Mayo, na siyang simula rin ng panahon ng paglalakbay ng mga deboto patungong Antipolo.

Mahal na Birhen ng Antipolo, Ina ng Kapayapaan at Mabuting Paglalakbay, gabayan mo kami sa aming paglalakbay sa buhay. Ilayo mo kami sa panganib, palakasin ang aming pananampalataya, at akayin kami patungo sa iyong Anak na si Hesus. Amen.

After hearing Christ’s call in the Gospel to give everything to the poor, he distributed his wealth and withdrew into the desert to live a life of prayer, fasting, and penance. His holiness inspired many others to follow the monastic life.

St. Ferdinand III of Castile (1199–1252), also known as Ferdinand III of Castile, was a king renowned for his deep faith, justice, and leadership. He united the kingdoms of Castile and León and worked to strengthen Christianity in Spain during the Reconquista. Despite his power, he was known for humility, charity to the poor, and devotion to God.
