Don’t forget to appreciate what’s already in your hands while you work for what’s still on the way.

Gratitude doesn’t mean you stop dreaming— it means you recognize the blessings you already have, so you can receive the next ones with an open heart.

Thankful kami na makilala at sa loob ng kulang kulang apat pa na taon, kayo ay aming makasama, maipabatid sa inyo ang pag-ibig ni YAHWEH.

Lead like a Lion

Proverbs 28:1 explains, “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion” (NKJV). Let’s look at three significant ways this verse applies to your role as a leader.

Proverbs 28:1, which contrasts the fearful "wicked" with the confident "righteous," applies to leadership by highlighting the importance of integrity and transparency, the necessity of courage in the face of opposition, and the foundation of confidence in a clear conscience that allows leaders to act decisively and inspire their teams rather than creating a culture of fear.

1. Integrity and Transparency Foster Trust

Wicked Leaders Flee:
Leaders who lack integrity, engage in deception, or have hidden agendas often feel exposed and anxious, constantly fearing discovery. They "flee when no one pursues" because they live with guilt and a constant need to protect themselves from exposure.

Righteous Leaders Are Bold:
A leader with integrity operates with transparency, building trust with their team and fostering a positive organizational culture. This authenticity empowers them to be "bold as a lion," standing firm in their values and actions because they have nothing to hide.

2. Courage in Decision-Making

Wicked Leaders Are Intimidated:
In a leadership role, the wicked are characterized by fear and insecurity, making them prone to indecision and a tendency to avoid challenges or difficult truths.

Righteous Leaders Act with Boldness:
The righteous, empowered by a clear conscience and strong moral compass, can face challenges and make decisions with confidence. Like a lion, they are decisive and purposeful in their actions, driven by a purpose greater than themselves rather than by fear.

3. A Clear Conscience Builds Confidence

The Guilty Are Always Afraid:
A leader who lives a "wicked" path, even if their wrongdoings aren't overtly visible, experiences an internal fear of exposure and consequences. They are always on edge, waiting for their actions or character to be revealed.

The Righteous Are Secure in Their Faith:
The righteous leader finds confidence in their trust in divine protection and a clear conscience. This inner peace enables them to lead with a steady hand, unencumbered by the need to constantly look over their shoulder, which inspires their followers to feel more secure.

To be bold means to be courageous and daring, to step out even in the face of fear. Being bold is the opposite of fleeing when no one pursues. To be bold means going after things, even when challenges or risks exist. Think about all the examples in the Bible of people who boldly obeyed God in the face of fear. David challenged a giant who had threatened to destroy him. Daniel was faithful to pray even when he knew that would cause him to be thrown into a den of lions. Nehemiah led an effort to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem even while his enemies taunted and threatened him. Each of these men could have let fear stop him, but he made a choice to be bold and obey God instead. In each case, God blessed them for their boldness, and they experienced overwhelming victory. He will do the same for us when we boldly carry out His plan!

Pursue like a Lion:
a little research on lions and learned an interesting fact about the way they hunt for food. What I learned is that lions stalk their chosen prey. They don’t just chase everything that comes along, but they go after specific targets. In the same way, we should be purposeful in what we pursue by having goals for our faith. When God places a certain desire in our hearts, we should focus on that target and go after it purposefully and intently until we see the vision fulfilled. When it comes to obeying God, we cannot afford to have a nonchalant attitude. We shouldn’t tell ourselves that we’ll obey God “one of these days” or when we “get around to it.” That’s not how a lion operates, and that’s not how we should carry ourselves either!

Be prayerful that God will place His dreams and desires in your heart, and then aggressively pursue them to see them fulfilled.

Ask YHWH for boldness, and then step out in faith to do the things He has called you to do. Don’t be stopped by the lies of what-ifs.

Be bold like a lion and see what YHWH will do!

shalom good morning,

as promised here is a continuation of my post regarding απόστολος.

Once the job was completed, a majority of the team members got back on the ships and launched out to sea again to find another uncivilized area and repeat the entire colonization process all over again. Thus, we find that the word apostolos described an admiral or team leader who led a team to establish new communities in uncivilized territories.

You can easily see how this definition had application to a New Testament apostle, whose primary task was to travel with an apostolic team to establish the Church in places where the Church was non-existent. This is one historical usage
of the word apostolos
that has bearing on its meaning
in the
New Testament.

Passport or Travel Document

The word apostolos was so closely associated with the idea of traveling that it also eventually became synonymous with a passport or a travel document.

If a person wanted to exit a country, he had to possess a travel document that was essentially an exit visa or a passport. This legal document was called an apostolos — the same word translated “apostle.” The document guaranteed the right of passage and the ability to move freely from one place to another.

let's analyze this passage from the Scriptures

Rom 1:1-2
1 From: Paul, a servant (δοῦλος)
of Jesus the Messiah, called to be an apostle (ἀπόστολος)
and set apart for God’s gospel,
2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures.

When the word apostolos was applied to early New Testament apostles, it implied that an apostle was the one who possess a spiritual passport (Gospel) that gave believers right of passage into heavenly realms and into deeper spiritual truths.

we can certainly see that those who were under the apostleship of Paul were taken into realms of revelation that they could have never attained on their own.

His ministry was a spiritual passport that gave them right of passage into spiritual revelation.

the word Ambassador is closely associated with an apostles... he is to represent the one who sends him.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles….
— Ephesians 4:11 NKJV

I want to cover some of the historical usages of the word “apostle.” απόστολος
apostolos

You will see that it had many uses in the Greek language of early New Testament times, and you’ll also see how all these uses have application to a New Testament apostle.

this discussion will not only enrich your understanding of this ministry gift, but it will also help you more fully receive from this gift that, among other purposes, is given to help establish and strengthen you in the faith.

And if you’ve ever sat under a true apostolic ministry, you will probably recognize the operation of that gift by many of the distinct characteristics that are found within the meaning of the word apostolos.

The Admiral of a Fleet of Ships

During the time of the ancient Greek orator Demosthenes (384-322 BC), the word apostolos was a naval term that described an admiral, the fleet of ships that traveled with him, and the specialized crew who accompanied and assisted the admiral.

The fleet would be sent out to sea on a mission to locate territories where civilization was nonexistent. Once an uncivilized region was identified, the admiral (called the apostolos) — along with his specialized crew and all their cargo and belongings — would disembark, settle down, and work as a team to establish a new community.

Then they would begin the process of transforming a strange land into a replica of life as they believed it should be.

Their purpose was total colonization of the uncivilized territory.

to be continued tomorrow.
