On January 13, 2024, the young men of the Lubao Stake initiated their first activity at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lubao Chapel Stake Center. During this event, the young men actively engaged in enhancing their spiritual strength, with a primary focus on understanding the importance of daily prayer and scripture study.
The young men enthusiastically participated in a session aimed at emphasizing the significance of personal worthiness, as articulated in the Lord's admonition to priesthood holders, “Be ye clean” (D&C 38:42). This section underscored the intricate connection between personal worthiness and priesthood power, as outlined in Doctrine and Covenants 121:34–46.
Moreover, the activity encouraged the young men to formulate plans for establishing or fortifying a habit of regular prayer and scripture study. This encompassed delving into the teachings of the living prophets, recognizing the valuable insights they provide for personal growth and spiritual development.
The overarching goal of the activity was to assist the priesthood holders in cultivating a habit of Praying and Studying the Scriptures consistently. The emphasis extended to living worthily, aligning their actions with the teachings of the Church, and gaining a profound understanding of doctrine.
As the young men diligently prepared their plans for daily prayer and scripture study, they were earnestly encouraged to contemplate the transformative power of these practices in their lives. The sharing segment provided a valuable opportunity for them to not only articulate what they had personally learned from their experiences with prayer and scripture study but also to share insights gathered from interactions with their families, friends, quorum meetings, and guidance received from leaders such as the bishopric and stake presidency. This inclusive approach aimed to foster a comprehensive sense of unity and shared spiritual growth among the members of the Lubao Stake, recognizing the diverse sources of wisdom and support within the Church community.
In essence, the activity served as a platform for the young men to internalize the directive to "Be ye clean," connecting personal worthiness to the acquisition of priesthood power. It also aimed to instill a deep commitment to daily prayer and scripture study, recognizing these practices as essential components of a spiritually enriching life within the framework of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
