Welcoming the New Year with salty air, crashing waves, and hearts full of joy. Under the open sky and by the sound of the sea, we celebrated not just another year, but the gift of togetherness as one PYM family.

From laughter on the shore to meaningful conversations by the waves, this day reminded us that God’s creation is the perfect place to reflect, give thanks, and hope for new beginnings. As the tides move forward, so do we—renewed in faith, strengthened in friendship, and ready to serve with love.

With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate everyone who made DYD 2025 a truly unforgettable experience!

First and foremost, we thank God for His guidance, blessings, and protection throughout this journey—without Him, none of this would have been possible.

To Rev. Fr. Elias Algabre, our beloved Parish Priest, thank you for your constant guidance, prayers, and encouragement that inspired us to give our best.

To all those who generously provided solicitations and sponsorships in any form or amount, your support made this event possible. To the PYM of Catagbacan and PYM Catagbacan Dancers, who tirelessly practiced and gave their all in the cultural show, and to the parents of our youth for their unwavering support—your passion, commitment, and belief in our youth brought this event to life.

We are deeply grateful to Saint Teresa Academy, headed by their school principal, Sr. Ma. Perlita B. Legaspi, DST for lending us the lights that brightened our performances and added magic to our celebration.

𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍: 𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎 𝐆𝐎𝐃'𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋

Pilgrims were inspired by vocation stories from three distinct paths: Fr. Sam Leidel shared his heartfelt journey to the priesthood; Sr. Jovita Cendena, SSpS, reflected on discerning God’s call, saying,“𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘆.” Her story reminded the youth that God often works quietly and unexpectedly in our lives, inviting us to trust and courageously respond. Mariz Umali with Raffy Tima of GMA 7 spoke about marriage as a daily “yes” to love and faith, reminding everyone that “𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂.” Their stories showed how courage, faith, and God’s grace guide each unique vocation, leading to true joy and fulfillment.

𝐒𝐈𝐏 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐄

Hope, or Paglaum, is the light that refuses to fade even in the darkest moments. Guided by the theme“𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀,” speakers during the Sip and Share segment shared how faith, courage, and community can turn despair into strength. Their reflections reminded everyone that hope is not just a feeling—it is a choice, a gift, and a guiding light.

The pilgrims of the Diocese of Tagbilaran were lifted into a spirit-filled encounter during the 𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘: 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽led by The Feast Tagbilaran, where powerful music, heartfelt prayers, and united voices turned the space into a sacred moment of encounter. Filled with joy and devotion, the young faithful were reminded that worship is more than a song—it is a surrender that strengthens, renews, and sets every pilgrim’s heart ablaze for mission as they journey beyond DYD 2025.

"𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲—𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲."

These words from Rev. Msgr. Efren A. Bongay echoed deeply during the Closing Mass of Diocesan Youth Day 2025, where he reminded us that Advent–a season of hope, invites an inner transformation and a renewed heart for mission.

As one youth, one Church, and one family in Christ, we gathered for the lighting of candles during our Mission Sending—a powerful symbol that our DYD journey does not end here. May this sail inspire us to serve with love, walk with faith, and carry Christ’s light into our communities. Mga sans, fellow pilgrims, let us continue to live as young missionaries, bearing the flame of DYD 2025 wherever we go.

In the gentle stillness of the night, the youth gathered around the Diocesan Youth Cross for a solemn Taizé Prayer that invited reflection, peace, and deep communion with God. The moment blossomed into a profound Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, where hearts were renewed and burdens quietly surrendered. With Christ at the center, the evening became a powerful reminder that His light guides every step of our pilgrimage in DYD 2025.

Walking together as one diocesan family strengthens our spirit, reminding us that we are never alone. God walks with us, and through us, His light continues to shine.
