Today, the Church remembers a man whose life testifies to the sanctity found in humble, everyday labor. St. Isidore worked the land for a wealthy landowner, yet despite his demanding job, he never let his work take precedence over his devotion to God. He began each day by attending Mass and praying, trusting that God would provide both for his family and his labor. Tradition holds that angels were seen plowing the fields in his place while he prayedβ€”signs of divine favor toward his unwavering faith. Known for his kindness to the poor, love for animals, and the miraculous events surrounding his life, St. Isidore became the patron saint of farmers, laborers, and rural communities.
