THE DESIRE OF AGES
Sometimes, it feels like evil is winningโ€ฆbut thatโ€™s exactly when the Son of God came, bringing hope and redemption to a world that needed it most.

What a comfort. What a love. Reading The Desire of Ages, Chapter 3, reminds usโ€”no matter how far people have turned away, no matter how broken and ugly weโ€™ve become, Godโ€™s compassion has never stopped. It never will.

Look at the mothers at SLPUM, ang gaganda lang nila. A radiance seen not only in their homes, but in the way they serve, care, and bless the Union. Thank you for reflecting the love of Jesus in both your families and in the mission work. You are blessing to SLPUM.

THE DESIRE OF AGES
"They measured their holiness by the multitude of their ceremonies, while their hearts were filled with pride and hypocrisy."

Such a strong statement. โ€œTheyโ€ here refers to the Jews after their subjection to Babylon. They became so focused on ceremonies and forms that they lost the spiritual life behind them. And honestlyโ€ฆ arenโ€™t we sometimes like that too?

Sometimes our obedience becomes external, not relational. Our worship becomes routine, not love. Even our ministriesโ€”our busyness for Godโ€”can quietly feed our pride and ego.

Because itโ€™s possible to look religious on the outside, yet far from God on the inside. May everything we do, our ministry, our act of service be an outgrowth of our love for Jesus. Nothing more, nothing less.

THE DESIRE OF AGES
Imagine the closeness Adam once had with Godโ€”face to face, nothing in between. But when sin entered, that relationship was broken.

This was exactly what Satan wanted. Humanity cut off from Godโ€”completely, permanently. He worked to make the plan of salvation fail. He wanted Jesus to fail at all costs.

But Jesus chose to come close. He took on our human natureโ€”our reality. And in doing so, He bound Himself to us with a tie that can never be broken for all eternity.

โ€œIn Christ the family of earth and the family of heaven are bound together.โ€ He didnโ€™t just reach down to usโ€”He brought humanity into the very heart of God.

THE DESIRE OF AGES
As we journey through The Desire of Ages, weโ€™ll be sharing quotes from time to timeโ€”lines that spoke to us and may speak to you as well. We invite you to join us in this reading journey.

Letโ€™s revisit the story of Jesusโ€”His life, His ministry, His death, His resurrection, and His intercession. And as we do, our prayer is that we will fall in love with Him more deeply than ever before. When we truly love Him, we cannot help but reflect Him and share Him with others.

We also encourage you to share your own takeawaysโ€”the quotes that touched your heart. Letโ€™s make this love for Jesus contagious.

For todayโ€™s reading, this is what inspired us: Only by love is love awakened. As we look at the life and character of Jesus, we are reminded that His government is very different from those of this world. Even in the midst of todayโ€™s political noise and unrest, this truth stands clearโ€”the exercise of force is contrary to Godโ€™s government. He desires only the service of love. To know God is to love Him.
