“Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.”

On this day, we mark the culmination of the fifty days of Easter, bringing the Easter season to its close. Pentecost Sunday also commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Mary and the apostles, reminding us of God’s promise fulfilled and the Spirit that continues to guide and strengthen us in faith.

Often called the “Birthday of the Church,” this celebration marks the moment when Christ’s followers, once filled with fear, became courageous proclaimers of the Gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pentecost invites us to open our hearts to the same transformative Spirit, allowing God’s love to move within us so that we may become instruments of His light in the lives of others.

On this day, we commemorate the Transitus, or the passing of St. John Baptist de La Salle to eternal life.

Through his passing from this life marks the end of his journey on earth, his mission of teaching minds, touching hearts, and transforming the lives students continues to live on through the Lasallian community across the globe.

As we commemorate and celebrate his life, may we as one Lasallian family continue to strive to instill faith in our hearts, through serving those in most need in our community.
