Memorial of Blessed NICOLAS BARRÉ

Blessed Nicolas Barré (b. Amiens, October 21, 1621, + Paris, May 31, 1686), a faithful follower of St. Francis of Paola, was a Minim religious and priest. All France came to hear of his virtues as a brilliant and untiring apostle, educator and teacher. He established Christian charity schools, and also founded the Congregation of the Sisters of the Child Jesus. He cooperated in the origin and promotion of popular schools in France. His work spread throughout the various continents, especially in Europe and in the Far East.

PRAYER

O God, by whose grace your priest Blessed Nicolas instructed the lowly and the little ones in the knowledge of Christ, grant that, by following his example and heeding the Holy Spirit's prompting, we may always be attentive to our neighbor's needs. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord.
