Creating your HOME an Altar for God in 30 Days
(March 15 to April 14, 2020)
Today, our homes can be created as “altars” for God. It is the way to dwell in the secret place of the Most High God and abide under His shadow (Psalm 91:1). And this is the foremost need of the hour.
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, the fathers of our faith, all built altars for Jehovah, the Great I Am God. Each one of them prioritised to find that special, God-ordained place to offer a sacrifice and meet with God.
Praise God! He has offered once and for all, His choicest Lamb to become the greatest and ultimate sacrifice - His only Son Jesus Christ, for every filipino family, starting with you and me.
Everything has been prepared for us today, in order that our homes become ONE with HEAVEN specially in this perilous time.
GOD WANTS TO DWELL IN OUR HEARTS, HOMES, and WALK IN OUR MIDST. He wants a permanent habitation, as all the end time prophets are saying. At the same time, the Father is preparing us, the Bride, for the Great Wedding of His Son. And He wants nothing less than the most beautifully adorned, spotless, perfect Bride to be wedded and become ONE WITH HIS SON.
This is what our lives are all about after we trumpeted and declared Jubilee 500 for our land and people. Jubilee gives us a fresh start and a totally new beginning for a renewed Covenant with Jesus Christ.
LET US MAKE EVERY HEART AND HOME AN ALTAR FOR GOD.
LET US START NOW.
First, is Spiritual and physical cleaning. It is like shaking off from one self, homes, and families all those 499 years of ungodly influences, negative /demonic covenants, evil lifestyles and practices. It is the time to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and decide to sanctify yourself and home for God.
* Let the Spirit of God point out and convict us to remove (destroy or burn) every filth, dirt abominable to Him and His eyes.
* Let God cut off every allegiance from all forms of idols and gods in your life and family. Remove every token, emblem related to ungodliness.
Every family member (specially the adults) has his/her own spiritual journey. Parents must be patient to walk with each one. Emphasise God as the final authority and the Holy Spirit as the Enabler. Some members maybe quick to obey God, others may not. Others may take a day or two or weeks to accomplish all. It is okay. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our Faith.
But be steadfast to make your home and every member an altar for God. Keep moving as a family towards God and His righteousness. No place for both condemnation and compromise.
Surely , this stage is difficult but important to be able to proceed to Step two.
Second, welcome the One True God in your home offering it as an ALTAR to Him, as a fresh dedication and sweet aroma for Him.
* Renew your COVENANT OF LOVE and COMMITMENT to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Use your own words and speak from your heart. You have no other audience but Him.
* Let every family member express his/ her renewal of covenant of love to the God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Third, prepare your family altar.
* commit a specific time and place to be with God as a family. A special, specific meeting time and place with God in your home. Set the number of minutes or hour depending upon the number of family members. Two people will require shorter time than families with more members. Forty five minutes to one and a half hour is best. It is the family’s morning or evening sacrifice.
* It can be room, a chair, dining table, garden, living room which you can call “the altar of God”. Be led by His Spirit on how you think He wants it to be arranged and spiritually comfortable for each member.
* God and His Word is the central feature. All other elements should help the members focus on God and not distract. This is the place for your family altar.
Fourth, the family altar activity. LOVE for God and for one another is the only acceptable motive. 1Corinthians 13. The family altar is NOT a religious ceremony nor ritual. It is LOVE IN ACTION. A place of reconciliation to God and to one another. Once this kind of atmosphere is established, all other activities will be spontaneous, sincere, relevant, participative, and enjoyable.
Below is a suggested pattern.
* Opening Prayer by the head of the family
* Praise and worship. Open with thanksgiving, praise, proclamations in scriptures or in songs.
* Reading of the Word. Follow a Scripture Reading Plan this 30 days
* Remembering the Lord’s Body and Blood through Communion.
* Recite and declare Psalm 91. The antidote for COVID19.
* Application Time. Allow each one to share the relevance of the Word of the Day.
* Closing Prayer
As we enthrone the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit in our homes as the One True God- the heavens of His abode is opened wide to us. A wide access to the realm of supernatural, spiritual, angelic activities shall become a reality to our homes and family members. EXPECT and EXPERIENCE His Kingdom and Will in Heaven come down and BE DONE IN OUR HOMES.
