Today, 24 May, we commemorate a moment of special significance for the Lasallian community. On this day in 1900, our Founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, was canonized in Rome by Pope Leo XIII alongside St. Rita of Cascia, patron saint of impossible causes, whose feast day the Church celebrated last May 22.

As we remember this shared milestone in the life of the Church, may St. Rita inspire us to remain hopeful in times of difficulty, and may St. La Salle continue to guide us in our mission of faith and service.

Today, we celebrate the feast of Blessed Nicolas Roland, a French priest and educator who is known to be the spiritual director and mentor of St. John Baptist De La Salle.

He dedicated his life to serving the marginalized members of the community during his time. Through his example, may we learn to uphold zeal for service, that we may do charitable works for everyone, especially the last, the lost, and the least.
