Today's Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 16:13-20

Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter said in reply, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Then He strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Messiah.

At that time Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, "Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon." But he did not say a word in answer to her.

His disciples came and asked him, "Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us." He said in reply, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But the woman came and did him homage, saying, "Lord, help me." He said in reply, "It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters." Then Jesus said to her in reply, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed from that hour.

Today's Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 14:22-33

After he had fed the people, Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and precede him to the other side of the sea, while he dismissed the crowds. After doing so, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray.

When it was evening he was there alone. Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore, was being tossed about by the waves, for the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified.

"It is a ghost," they said, and they cried out in fear. At once Jesus spoke to them, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Peter said to him in reply, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." He said, "Come." Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" After they got into the boat, the wind died down. Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying, "Truly, you are the Son of God."

Today's Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 17:1-9

Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, conversing with him.

Then Peter said to Jesus in reply, "Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him." When the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate and were very much afraid.

But Jesus came and touched them, saying, "Rise, and do not be afraid." And when the disciples raised their eyes, they saw no one else but Jesus alone. As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, "Do not tell the vision to anyone until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead."

Blessed and Grateful 🙏

On August 29, 2023, in our very own Sr. San Vicente Ferrer Chapel of Sitio Tagbobo, we celebrated a profound moment of faith as 11 communicants received the sacraments of Confirmation, Penance, and Eucharist.

Our souls were filled with joy as our Parish Priest of the Holy Child Parish- Lingig, Surigao del Sur, Rev. Fr. Apolinar Orozco led us in this sacred ceremony.

Let our hearts continue to be nourished by God's grace and may our journey of faith be forever strengthened. 🕊️

Maningkamot kita na maduol sa Ginoo, para kasabtan ta isab ang mga plano Naan sa kanato kinabuhi pinaagi ng Kanaan mga Pulong. 🙏

Mga kaigsoonon, "ang kamalasan mahitabo isab sa mga bootan na mga otaw", amo iyang di kita maglaong na dimalason ang upod kay tungod, di sila madayaw na pagka-otaw. Ug idtong mga madayaw, grasyahan. Imbis na kita mo dasig ng kanato isig ka-otaw, kita pa hinuon ang makasala.

Ang Ginoo lamang ang yasayod ng dagan ng kanato kinabuhi, masabtan ta lamang eni haw kita mo dangop Kanaan, haw kita mamati ng Kanaan mga Pulong,. 🙏

Ang Santos nga Ebanghelyo sumala ni San Mateo
Matt. 13:1-9

Niana gihapong adlawa mibiya si Jesus sa balay ug milingkod sa daplin sa lanaw. Unya tungod sa daghan kaayong mga tawo nga mialirong kaniya, misakay siya sa usa ka sakayan. Milingkod siya didto samtang ang mga tawo nagtindog sa daplin sa lanaw. Migamit siyag mga sambingay aron pagtudlo kanilag daghang mga butang.

Miingon siya, “May usa ka tawo nga miadto sa uma aron pagpugas. Sa pagsabod niya sa binhi, adunay nahulog sa agianan ug miabot ang mga langgam ug gipanuka kini. Ang uban nahulog sa yuta nga batoon ug nanurok dayon kay diyutay ra man ug dili lawom ang yuta niini. Apan sa pagsubang na sa adlaw, nalawos ang bag-ong nanurok ug kay wala man makagamot pag-ayo, nangalaya dayon kini. Ang ubang mga binhi didto nahulog sa dapit sa mga tunokong sagbot. Nanubo ang mga tunokong sagbot ug gilupig ang mga bag-ong tanom. Ug ang uban nahulog sa maayong yuta ug namunga. May namunga ug balig 100 ka pilo kay sa natanom, ang uban balig 60 ka pilo ug ang uban balig 30 ka pilo.” Ug miingon si Jesus, “Busa kon aduna kamoy dalunggan, pamati!”
