Cebu Caritas, in partnership with LH Foundation and the Archdiocese of Cebu, is calling for your help. Through Hatag Paglaum, you can sponsor Relief Kits for families affected by the recent earthquake in Northern Cebu.

The parishes in the affected towns and municipalities of Northern Cebu will be mobilized as Distribution Centers where beneficiaries can claim donated Relief Kits.

The Archdiocese of Cebu joins the Universal Church in mourning the death of Pope Francis.

According to Vatican News, Pope Francis passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, 7:35 AM, Easter Monday, at the age of 88, at his residence in the Casa Santa Marta within Vatican City. His passing marks the end of a historic papacy that began on March 13, 2013, and was characterized by his deep compassion, pastoral zeal, and commitment to a “Church that goes forth.”

Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, spoke these words at the Casa Santa Marta:

"Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God."

Pope Francis, the first Jesuit and the first Latin American pope, became a voice for the marginalized and a shepherd who consistently emphasized mercy, dialogue, and synodality in the life of the Church.

The Archdiocese invites all the lay faithful, clergy, and religious to offer prayers and Masses for the eternal repose of his soul. May the Lord grant him the reward of his faithful service and welcome him into eternal peace.

01 FEB | DAY NINE NOVENA TO ST. JOHN BOSCO

O Saint John Bosco, you were full of compassion toward all people, especially the young, who suffered from illness, poverty, hunger, injustice, and alienation. Pray for all in need, and for us too, that the blessings of God and protection of Mary Help of Christians may be on us all, to heal us, strengthen us, and comfort us. Pray for our families, especially for our young people, that they may be kept safely in God's grace. Intercede for us in life and in death so that we may eternally sing the Divine mercies in heaven.

Through your intercession may God grant me the following grace... [pause]... so that together with others I may bring young people to the love of Christ.

O Saint John Bosco, in your love and concern for all the scattered children of God, you sent your sons and daughters to the farthest part of the world to bring the knowledge of the loving God and the Light of the Gospel. Pray for all missionaries, and pray for us, that, inspired by your example and in your spirit, we may be united in work and prayer to win souls for Christ.

Through your intercession may God grant me the following grace... [pause]... so that together with Salesian missionaries all over the world I may assist in bringing young people to the love of Christ.
