Opened on October 19, 1999 by the CFIC Brothers Foundation, the Center provides care and a safe home for children. The Santo Niรฑo Center is a child-caring institution located in Liloan, Cebu, that provides temporary shelter and holistic care to boys aged 8 to 18 years old. The Center opened on October 19, 1999, through the efforts of the CFIC Brothers Foundation, Incorporatedโ€”a non-stock, non-prof

it Filipino organization established by the Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception (CFIC), an international religious congregation founded by Blessed Luigi Maria Monti in 1857 in Rome, Italy. Since its establishment, the Santo Niรฑo Center has been dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for children who come from difficult circumstances, including those who are abandoned, neglected, or at risk. The Center not only offers shelter but also provides education, values formation, livelihood skills training, and counseling to help boys grow into responsible, confident, and compassionate individuals. Guided by the CFICโ€™s mission of service to the poor and marginalized, the Santo Niรฑo Center continues to collaborate with government agencies, local communities, and partner organizations to ensure the well-being and development of every child under its care. Over the years, it has become a beacon of hope in Cebu, transforming young lives through faith, love, and service.

ORATIO IMPERATA
For the Protection of Our Schools and Children

Almighty and loving Father, You are our refuge and strength, our help in times of fear and distress.

We come before You with troubled hearts because of the violence and shootings that have brought fear to our schools, families, and communities.

Lord, protect our children and young people. Keep them safe wherever they study, play, and gather. Grant wisdom and vigilance to parents, teachers, school personnel, and all entrusted with their care.

Comfort those who have been wounded and traumatized, and console families and communities living in grief and fear.

Touch those who carry anger, hatred, loneliness, or thoughts of harming themselves or others. Send them people who will listen and help, and lead them toward healing, peace, and hope.

Grant wisdom and courage to our government officials, law-enforcement agencies, school authorities, and Church leaders. Help us recognize warning signs, address the causes of violence,
protect the vulnerable, and never remain indifferent.

Make our homes places of love and prayer, our schools places of safety and formation, and our communities places where every life is valued and protected.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, watch over us.
Seรฑor Santo Niรฑo, protect the children of Cebu and keep them close to Your loving heart.
Amen.

ORATIO IMPERATA

Bantayi sila bisan asa sila magtuon, magdula, ug magtapok.

Kini among gipangayo pinaagi kang Kristo nga among Ginoo. Amen.

Maria, Birhen sa Guadalupe, bantayi kami.
Seรฑor Santo Niรฑo, panalipdi ang mga kabataan sa Sugbo ug hupti sila duol sa Imong mahigugmaong kasingkasing.
Amen.

HAPPY PRIEST'S DAY | A prayer for our Priest's:

We thank you, God our Father, for those who have responded to your call to priestly ministry. Accept this prayer we offer on their behalf: Fill them with the sure knowledge of your love. Open their hearts to the power and consolation of the Holy Spirit. Lead them to greater union with your Son. Increase their faith in the Sacraments they celebrate as they nourish, strengthen and heal us.

Lord Jesus Christ, through the intercession of St. Jean Vianney, grant that your priests will be inspired to strive for holiness by the power of his example. As men of prayer, may they ponder your word, follow your will and faithfully lead the flocks you have entrusted to their care.

St. Jean Vianney, obtain for the Church an abundance of vocations to the holy priesthood. Through your intercession, may many faithful men hear Christโ€™s call, and respond with courage and generosity.

Mary our Mother, guard with your maternal care these chosen ones. Intercede for our priests, so that by offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, they may be conformed more each day to the image of your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

St. Jean Vianney, patron of priests, pray for us.

REQUIESCAT IN PACE | With deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of Most Rev. Emilio โ€œBoyโ€ Layon Bataclan, D.D.

Bishop Bataclan once visited the Sto. Niรฑo Center, where he celebrated the Holy Mass and shared his presence with our community. We are grateful for his ministry, kindness, and faithful service to the Church.

Let us unite in prayer for the eternal repose of his soul.

"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen."

24/06/2026

It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing of Retired Bishop Emelio Bataclan, aged 85.

He had been hospitalized and underwent the amputation of a leg due to complications from diabetes. While recovering in the hospital, he suffered a heart attack this morning and peacefully returned to the Lord.

Please keep Bishop Bataclan in your prayers, and let us commend his soul to Godโ€™s mercy and grant him eternal rest.

PASTORAL APPEAL FROM THE ARCHBISHOP OF CEBU | In support of the White Ribbon Movement March, organized by various religious groups and endorsed by the Catholic Bishopsโ€™ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), I invite all the faithful of the Archdiocese of Cebu to participate in this faith-based and non-partisan expression of our commitment to truth, accountability, justice, and righteousness in public life.

On Sunday, June 28, 2026, I encourage everyone to wear white clothing when attending Mass. If this is not possible, you may wear or pin a white ribbon. I likewise invite families, schools, offices, businesses, and institutions to display white ribbons in their homes, cars, workplaces, buildings, churches, and parish offices, as a visible sign of our shared desire for integrity, transparency, and good governance.

The white ribbon symbolizes our hope for a nation free from corruption and dishonesty. It expresses our call for accountability from those entrusted with public office, the responsible stewardship of public resources, and the pursuit of truth and justice for the common good. At the same time, it reminds us that genuine reform begins not only in our institutions but also in our own hearts.

The Word of God reminds us: โ€œLearn to do good; seek justiceโ€ (Isaiah 1:17). The Psalmist likewise prays: โ€œCreate in me a clean heart, O Godโ€ (Psalm 51:10).

Therefore, on June 28, let us not only wear white and display white ribbons. Let us also pray fervently that God may purify our hearts and renew our nation in truth, justice, and love.

Our commitment, however, must not end on that day. Beyond June 28, let us continue to exercise critical discernment, seek the truth, reject misinformation, resist every form of corruption, and hold ourselves and our leaders accountable. As faithful Christians and responsible citizens, we are called to be witnesses to honesty, justice, and integrity in our daily lives.

May the Lord bless our nation with leaders of wisdom and conscience, and may He grant us the courage to work together for a more just and righteous society.

โ€œBlessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfiedโ€ (Matthew 5:6).

Archbishop of Cebu

HINUMDOMI PADRE | In order to afford the highest reverence to the Blessed Sacrament, we would like to remind the clergy that allowing the choir to hold the Sacred Host while simultaneously singing or while playing an instrument is LITURGICALLY INAPPROPRIATE.

Choir members and musicians should maintain a reverent posture and avoid actions that divide their attention or disrespect the sacrament.
