Today, we celebrate the birth of the Church and the power of the Holy Spirit that unites, strengthens, and renews us.

Pentecost Sunday is one of the most important celebrations in Christianity. It happens 50 days after Easter Sunday and remembers the moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the followers of Jesus Christ. Christians often call it the โ€œ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐๐š๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ก.โ€

๐™’๐™๐™ฎ ๐™ž๐™จ ๐™ž๐™ฉ ๐™˜๐™–๐™ก๐™ก๐™š๐™™ โ€œ๐™‹๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™˜๐™ค๐™จ๐™ฉโ€?

The word Pentecost comes from a Greek word meaning โ€œfiftieth.โ€ It takes place on the 50th day after Easter.

In the Bible, the story is found in the book of Acts, chapter 2.

๐™’๐™๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™๐™–๐™ฅ๐™ฅ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™š๐™™ ๐™ค๐™ฃ ๐™‹๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™˜๐™ค๐™จ๐™ฉ?

After Jesus died and rose again, He told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the โ€œpromiseโ€ from God. While they were gathered together:

- A sound like a powerful rushing wind filled the house.
- What looked like tongues of fire appeared above them.
- They were filled with the Holy Spirit.
- They suddenly spoke in many different languages.

People from many nations were amazed because they could hear the message of God in their own language.

This moment changed frightened followers into bold preachers who began spreading Christianity around the world.

Today, the community of Libungan gathers with joyful hearts as we celebrate a magnificent dual milestone: the 63rd Patronal Fiesta of San Isidro Labrador Parish and the Solemnity of the Ascension of our Lord.

As we honor San Isidro Labrador, we give thanks for the abundant fruits of our labor, the resilience of our farmers, and the blessings of our community. Simultaneously, we lift our eyes to the heavens, celebrating Christโ€™s Ascension and His promise to remain with us always.

In Gospel of John 14:1โ€“12, Jesus calls us to trust Him in times of uncertainty, reminding us that He is โ€œthe way, the truth, and the life.โ€ He assures us that He prepares a place for us and that to know Him is to know the Father. Like Philip the Apostle, we may seek clearer understanding, but Jesus invites us to deepen our faith and find peace in Him, confidently walking the path that leads us home.
