Our theme comes from 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣 15:27: “𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨, 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙚.” These words remind us that we are not called to keep our faith quiet or hidden. We are called to stand, to speak, and to serve — to be living witnesses of the love we’ve received.

Expect two days filled with powerful talks that challenge you, worship that moves you, games that break the ice, and moments of silence that speak straight to your soul. Expect new friendships, renewed purpose, and memories you’ll carry into every season of your life.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐀𝐘

Good Friday is regarded as the most solemn day in the Church calendar. It marks the day Jesus was crucified—his ultimate act of love and sacrifice. The observance includes the Via Crucis or Stations of the Cross, the procession of the Santo Entierro, and hours of silent prayer, bringing together the faithful in reflection of Christ's suffering on the Cross.

Holy Saturday, also known as Black Saturday, follows the darkness of Good Friday and commemorates the day Jesus’ body was laid in the tomb. It is a time of quiet anticipation and solemnity, as Christians continue to mourn the death of Jesus Christ.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 - 𝘚𝘐𝘌𝘛𝘌 𝘗𝘈𝘓𝘈𝘉𝘙𝘈𝘚 & 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋’𝘚 𝘗𝘈𝘚𝘚𝘐𝘖𝘕

The Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ are the final sacred phrases He spoke during His crucifixion, recorded in the Gospels. Each word reveals a profound message—of forgiveness, salvation, love, abandonment, and ultimate victory.

Furthermore, the Passion of Jesus Christ tells the story of His suffering and sacrifice, revealed in the Gospels as the ultimate act of love, obedience, and redemption for all.

During Holy Week, especially on Good Friday, we reflect deeply on these words. They invite us to enter into His suffering, to understand His mercy, and to embrace the boundless love He poured out for humanity.

Parishioners of Saint John the Baptist Parish, together with various ministries and devotees, gathered in prayer and devotion to walk the Way of the Cross, reverently commemorating the Passion and Death of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Via Crucis encourages us to reflect deeply on Jesus Christ's suffering and to walk alongside Him in love, repentance, and hope.

Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, is a pivotal day in the Catholic Church's liturgical calendar, marking the beginning of the Triduum, the three most sacred days leading up to Easter. It is celebrated today, the Thursday of Holy Week.

Moreover, the liturgy for Maundy Thursday, known as the Mass of the Lord's Supper, often includes the ritual of the washing of feet, where the priest washes the feet of twelve members of the congregation, symbolizing Jesus' act of humble service. The Mass concludes with the solemn transfer of the Blessed Sacrament to an altar of repose, where the faithful are invited to spend time in adoration, keeping watch with Jesus, just as He asked His disciples to do in the Garden of Gethsemane. The main altar is then stripped bare, symbolizing the stripping of Jesus before His crucifixion and the desolation of the Church as it enters into the sorrow of Good Friday.

Lastly, this will also be the last Maundy Thursday of Fr. Cho-Cho here at Saint John the Baptist Parish - Diatagon. Maundy Thursday invites us to reflect deeply on Jesus' immense love, His gift of the Eucharist and the Priesthood, and His call to radical, humble service to one another.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | LENTEN RECOLLECTION

All Worship Ministries of Saint John the Baptist Parish gathered together in a heartfelt Lenten Recollection at SJBP Church on 1 April 2026. Blessed by the presence of seminarians from across the Diocese of Tandag who led us in reflection, the event centered on understanding the true meaning of the cross, embracing our responsibilities as ministries, and appreciating the profound significance of the Lenten season.

After the recollection, we came together in prayer during a Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Leonardo “Cho-Cho” Orillaneda Jr., SBJP Parish Priest. In his homily, he lovingly expressed his gratitude for the dedication and service of all the ministries he has been blessed to work with over the past five years. He also shared a comforting quote from Bishop Raul: “You are called to be faithful, not to be successful,” reminding us of the importance of faithfulness and humility in our journey.

The Fourth Sunday of Advent tenderly invites us to open our hearts with love and gentle anticipation as we prepare to welcome the light of Christ. As we light the fourth candle, we embrace the joy of His birth, holding onto the hope, peace, and unconditional love He graciously offers to the world.

This final week of Advent gently encourages us to reflect with loving hearts on the promise of Emmanuel, God who dwells among us. Let His guiding light softly illuminate our lives as we prepare our hearts and homes to joyfully receive our Savior.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, as we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent, we open our hearts with love and gentle anticipation for the coming of Your Son, the Light of the world; as we light the fourth candle, fill us with the joy of His birth and strengthen within us the Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace He brings, that we may truly embrace the promise of Emmanuel; God with us. And allow His guiding light to illuminate our lives as we prepare our hearts and homes to welcome our Savior joyfully. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
