How secure are you in Christ?

Sometimes our confidence rises and falls with how well we are doing. When we are faithful, we feel secure. When we fail, we begin to wonder if God is still with us.

But 1 Corinthians 1:4–9 points us away from ourselves and back to God's faithfulness.

We are saved by His grace.
We are strengthened by His gifts.
We are sealed for His glory.
And we are summoned into fellowship with His Son.

Our security is not based on how impressive we are, how strong our faith feels, or how perfectly we serve.

It is grounded in the grace and faithfulness of God.

So don't boast in yourself. Boast in Christ.

When you feel weak, remember His grace.

When you think you have nothing to offer, remember what He has entrusted to you.

When discouragement comes, remember that there is a coming day when Christ will be revealed in glory.

And when you face temptation, sorrow, or difficult decisions, remember this: you are not walking alone. You have been called into fellowship with Jesus Christ.

The Christian life is not about trying to hold on to Christ by our own strength.

It is about trusting the God who has called us, equipped us, and remains faithful.

Our confidence is not in ourselves. Our confidence is in Him.

Sometimes we enjoy God's blessings without stopping to recognize the God behind the blessings.

Psalm 65 gives us a beautiful picture of who God is.

He is the God who hears our prayers, forgives our sins, brings us near, and satisfies our souls.

He is also the God who holds the mountains, stills the seas, governs the nations, and remains sovereign over everything we cannot control.

And He is the God who provides, waters, blesses, and gives us reason to rejoice.

So the question is not simply, “What is happening in my life?”

The better question is:

“Where do I see God in all of this?”

When you pray—remember the God who hears.

When you fail—remember the God who forgives.

When life feels beyond your control—remember the God who is sovereign.

When blessings come—don't just enjoy the blessing. Thank the One who gave it.

When you eat, thank Him.
When He provides, thank Him.
When prayer is answered, thank Him.
When you wake up to another day, thank Him.

When trouble comes, where do you go?

Do you isolate yourself in anxiety?
Do you look everywhere else for answers?
Or do you return to the people of God and pray?

In Acts 4:23–31, the early church faced threats and opposition. But they did not respond with fear or retreat.

They gathered. They prayed. They worshiped. They remembered the sovereignty of God. And they asked for boldness to keep proclaiming Christ.

Notice what they did not pray:
“Lord, make our problems disappear.”

They prayed for boldness to remain faithful in the middle of the problem.

That challenges us today.

Sometimes we need to stop praying only for God to change our circumstances and start asking Him to change us, strengthen us, and use us in the circumstances He has allowed.

A praying church is not a church without problems.

It is a church that knows where to bring its problems.

When the church gathers in prayer, lifts its voice in worship, anchors itself in God's Word and sovereignty, and boldly seeks His power, God is able to do what human strength cannot do.

The answer to a troubled church is not always better circumstances. Sometimes, it is a deeper dependence on God.

What does it really mean to live like someone who has been called by God?

Ephesians 4:1–6 reminds us that our Christian calling is not just something we believe—it should be something we live out.

Our conduct should match our calling.

That means walking with humility, showing meekness, being patient with one another, and choosing love even when relationships become difficult.

Because sometimes, the real test of our Christianity isn't how we treat people we agree with.

It's how we treat people who are difficult to love.

And Paul reminds us why unity matters: “There is one body, and one Spirit… one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all.”

We may not agree on everything. We may have different personalities, preferences, and opinions.

But we belong to one body, under one Lord.

So ask yourself:

Are you helping preserve the unity of Christ's church—or quietly contributing to its division?

Are your words building others up or tearing them down?

Are you walking worthy of the calling you have received?

Our unity is not rooted in agreeing on everything. It is rooted in belonging to the One who is everything.

Sometimes the deepest wounds don't come from what people do to us—but from what people say about us when we're not there to hear it.

Rumors. Accusations. Hidden conversations. Misunderstandings.

Psalm 64 reminds us that God's people may face attacks that are quiet, secret, and deeply painful. But David shows us where to run—not to retaliation, speculation, or revenge, but to God in prayer.

When whispers surround you, will you feed your fear—or feed your faith with God's promises?

When you're misunderstood, will you defend yourself at every opportunity—or leave your vindication in God's hands?

And perhaps more importantly, are we becoming part of the problem?

Are our words bringing peace or suspicion?
Are we strengthening unity or quietly creating division?
Are our conversations building Christ's church—or weakening it?

Psalm 64 reminds us that God sees what people hide, and the Judge of all the earth will always do right.

So don't let the attacks of people drive you away from the Lord.

Let them drive you nearer to Him.

We all pray. But have you ever stopped and asked, “Does my prayer life truly honor God?”

Colossians 4:2 gives us a simple but challenging picture of prayer:

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.

Prayer that honors God is not only about asking Him for what we need. It is about remaining faithful in prayer, staying spiritually watchful, and learning to be thankful—even before the answer comes.

When life gets difficult, do we keep praying—or do we slowly give up?

When answers seem delayed, are we still trusting God?

Are we spiritually alert in prayer, examining our hearts and recognizing the spiritual battles around us?

And when we pray, can we still thank God even when we don't yet see the answer?

A strong prayer life is not measured simply by how much we pray, but by how we depend on God through prayer.

Continue. Watch. Give thanks.
