Testimony how FSY helped you prepare for mission:

"As I opened my phone, a pop-up email appeared: "Your Missionary Call Letter Is Ready!" I felt a mixture of excitement and gratitude. The path that has led me here has been filled with moments of joy, challenges, and wonderful learning, with FSY 2022 being a highlight that truly prepared my heart and spirit for this sacred calling.

At FSY, I found myself surrounded by incredible youth, all seeking to deepen their faith and strengthen their testimonies. It was days where the Spirit was tangible, where laughter and love intertwined with lessons and experiences that will stay with me forever. One of the most impactful teachings came from Brother Manuel Insigne, who said, “All of us are very important, just like a washer, with callings or not.” This simple yet profound statement resonated deeply with me. It reminded me that no matter our specific roles or callings in life, we each have value and purpose in God’s great plan. Just as a washer is essential to the function of a machine, we are vital to the work of the Lord.

Preparing for a mission has not been without its hardships. There have been moments of doubt, fear of the unknown, and the weight of expectations. However, during FSY, I learned the importance of leaning on my faith. I was reminded of the teachings of our living prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, who encourages us to “become more like the Savior.” His words inspired me to focus on service and to see each person as a child of God, deserving of love and compassion. This perspective helped me push through my own struggles, transforming my fears into a desire to serve others.

Through my experiences at FSY, I learned that every challenge I face is an opportunity for growth. I felt the Spirit urging me to embrace my mission preparation not just as a checklist of tasks, but as a journey of becoming the person the Lord wants me to be. I discovered that my hardships could refine me, much like gold is purified in fire, preparing me for the sacred work ahead.

My testimony of the Gospel has grown immensely through the principles taught at FSY. I learned that sharing the love of Christ is not just a calling; it is a way of life. Each day, I strive to be an instrument in the Lord's hands, ready to uplift and inspire those I meet. I witnessed firsthand the power of service, as we participated in activities that brought us closer to one another and to the Savior. The friendships I formed have become a source of strength, reminding me that we are all in this together.

As I prepare to serve, I carry with me the lessons learned at FSY and the understanding that I am a crucial part of God’s plan. I am excited to share the love of Christ and to be a light in the lives of others. I know that my mission will not only be about serving those around me but also about continuing to grow and learn as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the experiences that have shaped me and for the lessons that have been instilled in my heart. I will be forever grateful for FSY.💛"

Testimony how FSY helped Fatima prepare for mission:

"Maayong aldaw sa tanan! I'm so glad to be a part of FSY 2022, I'm so happy to be called Ate Fat. I'm here to testify all of you. Every training we had, my knowledge and testimony expanded. I also understood how to be an example to the youth. I admit that I was always late for training but I never gave up because God knows I am a part of FSY that year. In every training, I always read the scriptures and that's when I heard the voice of God that pushed me to serve a mission. I read a very beautiful verse in Doctrine and Covenant 43:23, and it says:

"And again, the Lord shall utter his voice out of heaven, saying: Hearken, O ye nations of the earth, and hear the words of that God who made you."

This verse is significant for me. It is important to attend FSY and it is one of the ways to know Jesus Christ and to become like him. I know when you follow the commandments, God will bless you always. I know someday you will be a good missionary ✨️"

Ate Joanne's Testimony:

"Temple marriage is such a big decision to make yet it is an important commandment that I or we should follow. What inspired me more to make this decision was when I joined and became part of the FSY Conference. I was actually engaged at that time when I participated in FSY🫰🏼 Kakilig diba? 😁Inspired na kaagad! 😍 (P.S. May 19, 2022 ako naengaged, skl)

What actually taught me every time I participated in trainings, devotional, and other activities in FSY is to BELIEVE and TRUST HIM. The more I think about Him, the more I see myself the way He look at me. The more I chose to trust Him, the more I found myself doing things right. There are times I failed, but there are times I actually did it! 💪🏼 Alam mo yung feeling na when you are actually doing it, it feels like everything is possible. It is indeed possible. However, problem arises and things might get worse sometimes but that's how He wants us to grow even our trust in Him.

Like I said earlier, temple marriage is such a big decision to make. It was really hard at first, I had just returned home from my mission, had no stable job, my parent's permission needed, etc. There are a lot of things I need to consider to make it work as planned. Yes, unexpected things happened. We went through hardships and opposition but just like Lehi, "we heeded them not". Just to add, we put our TRUST IN HIM 🤍 As a result, natuloy na nga ang pinakainaasam-asam ko, I finally got married to the person I really really love last November 25, 2022 in Philippines Manila Temple. Very happy wife and mom as well 👨‍👩‍👦"

Thank you, Ate Joanne! For your example and faith! Thank you for all the sacrifices you made during the FSY training and FSY session itself.

Ate Joanne is kind, loving, and well-behaved. We love you!!!

We are proud of you, Ate Vic! ♥

Ate Vic's testimony:

"As a young woman who grew up abiding the teachings of the church, it has always been a dream for me to be sealed in the temple "for time and all eternity". I'm happy to share that last June 8, 2023 I had successfully fulfilled that dream ❤️

It's not easy but it's always been worth it! What made it more easier is that FSY helped me to prepare more spiritually through attending trainings and facilitating the FSY Activity❤️

One thing I learned as an Assistant Coordinator is that, "great things comes to those who TRUST in the Lord"

We were able to successfully execute the activity thru the help of our Coordinators and other Assistant Coordinators because we fully trusted on Heavenly Father. The trainings that we had for 6 months helped us to know more about ourselves and our purpose in the FSY Legazpi Session. I will never forget the moments and memories we shared, the people I met and got along with, the lessons I learned, and the spiritual blessings I received."

Ate Vic, was one of our assistant coordinators and we sure know that she is well organized, kind, sweet, is a leader, knows what her roles are, and fulfills them perfectly. We have seen your efforts and handwork, and we are happy because you are now blessed with eternal companion. We love you, Ate Vic!! ♥

We are proud of you, Kuya Chad Brizuela!

Kuya Chad was one of our counselors during the FSY Legazpi Session 2022. He is always eager to help and lend hands during the training. He is funny, kind, and will always have your ears listen to him when he teaches. He is a worthy priesthood leader and now married to his "lady to who is temple ready". Thank you for trusting in the Lord, Kuya Chad!!

Kuya Chad's Testimony:

"FSY Legazpi Session 2022 was one of the most memorable experiences in my life. Syimpri perstaym ba. It was a break for me and I’m pretty sure for all of us because of the pandemic but behind this successful event, challenges came. I came to the point where I needed to choose if I’m going to accept a job offered to me or to be one of the counselors. A day before of the event, I also got sick, I had rashes all over my body with a high fever. This experience taught me how to "trust in the Lord" and be willing to sacrifice all things.

This quote that I’m going to share strengthens my faith in our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and also helps me to keep the higher covenants I have made with them:

“We may not be asked to sacrifice all things, but we should be willing to sacrifice everything”

I also called this “Thy will be done attitude”. I testify that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives, I've witnessed miracles in my life and received so much blessing when I put my trust in them. Padagos lang!"

Feb-Ibig Month nanaman!

It's been almost two years since the last FSY Legazpi 2022. How's everyone?

This month, we would like to feature some of our FSY staff, how their life turned out to be, and how FSY helped them prepare for married life as they continued to press forward in faith.

Ate Jenny was one of our Assistant Coordinators during the FSY Legazpi Session 2022. She is hard working, kind, diligent, and always offers a helping hand. We love her cute and kikay outfits and we are proud of her. Congratulations, ate Jenny and to your husband! Thank you for continuing to press forward in faith.

Jenny's Testimony:

“I want my life and my marriage to look less like the world and more like Christ.” —Marquis Clarke

As one of FSY's assistant coordinators, I struggle to arrange everything. Although managing four counselors with young people is challenging, the six days of FSY experience taught me to be organized, patient, and have a plan with faith to help me in every problem to have a solution. While preparing for Temple Marriage, we faced a lot of struggles. We plan to get married on December 12, 2023, but unfortunately, there is a problem with one of our requirements. I was stressed about it, but then FSY taught me to think of a plan and have faith to solve a problem. I remember the 2022 Youth Theme, " Trust in the Lord"; I prayed and was prompted to call our Bishop to ask for some counsel and advice. After that, I feel the comfort of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He knows what is best, but to truly embrace what he has planned for you, you need to trust the Lord. FSY helped me to grow my faith and desire to do all the ordinances in the Temple of God; last October 11, 2023, I was able to perform one of the living ordinances, which is my Own Endowment, and last January 4, 2024, I obtain one of the eternal blessings the Temple Marriage and get married to my Husband Michael."

CALLED TO SERVE!

WE ARE PROUD OF YOU, SISTER MAGRO! ♥

Testimony of how FSY helped her prepare for serving a full-time missionary service:

"Maayong Adlaw sa tanan!
I used to join FSY 2019 and 2022—different years, but the same program that provided purposeful inspiration and the courage to have a testimony about the great Redeemer. The FSY program is not just a fun, cool activity for the youth; it is also a spiritual activity that gives opportunity to gather His children again. FSY is composed of physical and spiritual events that give nutrients and satisfaction to the youth, and I can attest to how great that program is. When I was young, I always chose to raise my hand whenever my primary teacher asked who wanted to serve a mission someday, knowing I didn't have the desire, strong faith, or strong testimony yet. It was just a great influence from my Mother.
Time flies so fast.
And I am now onto the next chapter of myself. God's time has come. I will be serving in the Philippines Bacolod Mission. Clearly, it is a new environment for me,but I know that environment is the place where I am called to serve,a place where I can share the gospel of my beloved Jesus Christ and declare the glad tidings. In Doctrine and Covenants 80:3-5, it says, "It mattereth not where we go,as we desire to preach His gospel and declare the glad tidings which we heard, believe, and know; we cannot go amiss; behold, this is the will of him who hath called you, your redeemer, even Jesus Christ, Amen.".
And with the huge and great programs in the church, specifically the FSY, it gave me an urge and strength to share with others the happiness that the church and the gospel always shower upon me. The Strength of Youth program is another ingredient in me that will surely add spice and will never give a cloy as I become a missionary someday.
I would like to leave my testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is true,His gospel, and the restoration of the Book of Mormon, where my desire to serve a mission started, I so testify that in Doctrine and Covenants 79:2, "And I will send upon Him the comforter, which shall teach Him the truth and the way he shall go". How great thy program, How great thy work. I am a woman of Christ, this I leave in the name of thy Son Jesus Christ, Amen."

CALLED TO SERVE!

WE ARE PROUD OF YOU, SISTER MAGRO! ♥

Testimony of how FSY helped her prepare for serving a full-time missionary service:

"Maayong Adlaw sa tanan! I'm so grateful to be part of FSY 2019 & 2022. For me, FSY was not all about the fun & tiring activities I've experienced but it also gave me spiritual counsel that I could cherish throughout my life. This program helped me to strengthen my faith and always rely on Him. This also gives me the opportunity to express my skills and I'm so grateful for it.

Before, I'd never thought of serving a mission. There were times I felt lost or something was not right and something was missing. Lots of questions but I never asked. Then when I read the Book of Mormon and found this counsel in 1 Nephi 10:6, 18-19 it says "Wherefore, all mankind where in lost and in a fallen state, and ever would be save they should rely on this Redeemer. For he is the same yesterday, today, and forever." with the invitation to ask and seek diligently, which I seek for understanding and especially seek to know Him and embrace Him to my life.

Preparing to serve is not easy. Like other missionaries, I also experienced those challenges and hindrances. But relying on and trusting the Lord helps me to overcome it. Serving in the Lord's vineyard for a year and a half is a choice that I would never regret.

I bear my testimony that Heavenly Father will always give us Fulfillment, Purpose, and Joy. He loves us despite our flaws and imperfections. God chose me as a vessel of his love, charity, and light to the people I will be serving in Cagayan De Oro. I testify that likening the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon to our lives will give us hope and the true meaning of eternal happiness."
