The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrates the birth of the Mother of God, whose coming into the world marked the beginning of the fulfillment of God’s plan for the salvation of humanity. Through her birth, the Church rejoices in the one who would faithfully accept God’s will and become the mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

The birth of Mary reminds us of God’s loving providence and His ability to prepare extraordinary things through humble beginnings. Chosen and blessed by God, she grew in grace and faith, becoming a perfect example of obedience, humility, and unwavering trust in the Lord.

As we celebrate her nativity, we give thanks to God for the gift of the Blessed Virgin Mary—a loving Mother, faithful disciple, and powerful intercessor who continues to lead us closer to her Son.

St. Theresa of Calcutta was a faithful servant of God who dedicated her life to the service of the poor, the sick, and those most in need. Through her humble work and unwavering love, she founded the Missionaries of Charity and became a living witness to Christ’s compassion.

Her life reminds us that holiness can be found in simple acts of love, service, and mercy. Through her selfless dedication, St. Theresa showed the world that every person, especially the poor and forgotten, deserves to be treated with dignity and love.

She is venerated as a religious sister, missionary, and founder of the Missionaries of Charity, and is remembered for her profound service to the poorest of the poor.

St. Gregory the Great was a faithful servant of God who dedicated his life to the service of the Church and the care of God’s people. As Pope, he worked tirelessly for the spiritual renewal of the Church, the care of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel.

His life reminds us that true leadership is rooted in humility, service, and love for God and His people. Through his wisdom, pastoral care, and dedication to the faith, St. Gregory became a lasting example of Christian leadership.

He is venerated as Pope, Doctor of the Church, and a great pastor who faithfully served the Church during a time of great change.

On this blessed occasion, we extend our warmest greetings to the clergy and faithful of Albay Cathedral as we commemorate the Feast of Saint Gregory the Great. May his example of humble service and steadfast faith continue to inspire your community in proclaiming and living out the Gospel.

The Passion of St. John the Baptist commemorates the martyrdom of the prophet who fearlessly proclaimed the truth and prepared the way for the coming of Christ. Saint John remained faithful to his mission even when his proclamation of God’s law brought him opposition and persecution.

His martyrdom reminds us of the courage required to stand firmly for the truth and to remain faithful to God even in the face of suffering. Like Saint John, we are called to prepare the way for Christ through our words, actions, and witness.

He is venerated as the Forerunner of Christ and the last and greatest of the prophets, who bore witness to the Lord with courage and faithfulness.

St. Monica is remembered as a devoted Christian whose life was marked by unwavering faith, patient perseverance, and fervent prayer. As the mother of Saint Augustine, she spent many years praying for his conversion and return to the faith, trusting continually in God’s mercy and providence.

Her life reminds us of the power of persistent prayer and the importance of entrusting our loved ones to God. Through her patience, tears, and steadfast faith, St. Monica became an example of a mother who never ceased to hope in the Lord.

She is venerated as a model of Christian motherhood and a patroness of mothers, wives, and those who pray for the conversion of their loved ones.

Students from the Divine Word College of Legazpi, Senior High School Department attend the 3rd Sunday Sponsorship Mass presided over by the New School President, Rev. Fr. Renato A. Tampol, SVD, PhD, together with his concelebrant, Rev. Fr. Felix Noel B. Dacquel, SVD, Vice President for Finance.

The Celebration of the Holy Eucharist reminded the students that, despite present challenges and difficulties, Christ is in our midst, present always to guide us in all our endeavors, especially as students witness to the word.
