𝗗𝗶𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

We are grateful to God for the grace of joining the 𝗗𝗶𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, yesterday, March 7, 2026 at the Divine Mercy Shrine and Monastery of the Carmelite Nuns of the Holy Trinity, Philippines, Carmel Heights, Kawa-Kawa Hills, Tuburan, Ligao City, beautifully held on the birthday of St. Thomas Aquinas.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Most. Rev. Joel Baylon, D.D. (Bishop of the Diocese of Legazpi), and to Rev. Fr. Drocs Quinzon De Vera (DYC Chair), and to St. Raphael the Archangel Commission on Youth for inviting the Lay Dominicans of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati Community to take part in the formation seminar in preparation for this diocesan gathering of young pilgrims.

We are also thankful for the chance to meet and share with the Altar Servers from St. Joseph the Worker Parish - Banquerohan, Legazpi City, Albay. It was a joy to talk about our Lord Jesus as well as the life of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati especially his simple and powerful reminder to young people: 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼 𝗹'𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗼! 𝗧𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀!

Thank you, Lord, for these small encounters that strengthen our faith and remind us we journey together. We continue to pray for all the young people who have the desire to be part of our small community to serve God and His people through the intercession of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, and our Holy Father St. Dominic de Guzman.

𝐓𝐎𝐓𝐀 𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐀 𝐄𝐒, 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐀! 𝐄𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐍 𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐄!

DECEMBER 8 | SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

The Immaculate Conception is a Catholic dogma which teaches that the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, was preserved free from all stain of original sin from the very first moment of her conception in the womb of her mother, Saint Anne. This singular grace and privilege were granted by Almighty God, in view of the foreseen merits of her Son, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race. It refers to Mary's own unique holiness from the beginning of her existence, making her a most worthy dwelling place for God the Son. The doctrine was formally and infallibly defined by Pope Pius IX on December 8, 1854, in the papal bull "Ineffabilis Deus," and this day is celebrated as the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception—a Holy Day of Obligation.

Prayer:
"O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin brought forth a dwelling place worthy of your Son, and prepared it for him by the working of the Holy Spirit, grant, we pray, that, as you preserved her from every stain by virtue of the death of your Son, which you foresaw, so, through her intercession, we, too, may be cleansed from sin and come into your presence. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen."

With deep gratitude, we commend to God the soul of our sister in the Lay Dominican family, Sis. Eva, a Lay Dominican of the Blessed Imelda Lambertini Chapter - Calabanga. May the angels lead her home, and may Saint Dominic de Guzman, Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati and the patron of her community Blessed Imelda Lambertini and all holy men and women rejoice at her coming.

In this ever-changing world, there are countless factors that hinder us from acquiring a true sense of humility. We easily dismiss or invalidate others just to prove a point. But have we ever asked ourselves: Would I rather be kind than be right?

𝗔𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 — 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝘁. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. He invites us to 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. When we begin to see others as “more worthy or holy,” 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 — 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀.

Still, his invitation does not end there. St. Martin calls us to strive for holiness ourselves — not through passivity, but through active love that serves quietly and grows in grace.

𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. Not in proving that we are good or holy, but 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵
— like St. Martin — 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘂𝘀.

02 November | Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed

Today, the Church pauses in prayer for all the faithful departed — our brothers and sisters who, in the purifying love of Purgatory, await the fullness of eternal joy in Heaven.

After rejoicing with the Saints yesterday, we now turn our hearts to those who still journey toward the light of God’s presence. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, re-presenting Christ’s offering on Calvary, remains the Church’s greatest act of love and intercession for the souls of the departed — a beautiful reminder that death does not break the bonds of the Body of Christ. ✝️

“All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven.”
— Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1030–1031

Even when November 2 falls on a Sunday, the Mass of the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed is celebrated.

In keeping with the Apostolic Constitution Incruentum altaris sacrificium (Benedict XV, 1915), priests may offer three Masses today — for the souls of the departed, for the faithful, and for the intentions of the Holy Father.

🙏 Let us especially remember and pray for the faithful departed during the octave of All Souls (November 1–8), when we are invited to offer prayers, sacrifices, and visits to cemeteries for the release of souls from Purgatory.

With deep sorrow, the Bishop of Legazpi announces the passing of The Reverend Father JUCEF Z. GARCIA, Pastor of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino Parish, Estancia, Malinao, Albay.

Fr. Ga was called home to the Lord at 3:00 this afternoon. Funeral details will be announced once arrangements are made.

Bishop Baylon and the clergy of the Diocese extend their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Fr. Ga.

Let us pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Fr. Ga.

Last night, under the quiet of the evening sky our parish the St.Raphael the Archangel Parish - Legazpi Port District walked together in the Grand Parochial Procession. Eighteen images of saints from every barangay journeyed with us and each one of them is a reminder that holiness is possible, that young or old, we are all called to holiness and be a light in the darkness.

To all the youth out there : this is our time. Not just to watch, but to walk. Not just to join the procession, but to be actively and genuinely part of it. May we all allow our faith to move beyond the walls of the Church and into the streets of our community just like St. Pier Giorgio did.
