Blessings in Disguise

6th Sunday of Ordinary Time | Luke 6:17-20,26

Luke 6:26 says, "Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets."

This verse reminds us that having everyone's approval can be a bad sign. It may indicate that we're compromising our values or watering down our message to appease others.

As followers of Jesus, we're called to stand for truth and righteousness, even if it means facing criticism or opposition. Let's strive to please God rather than seeking human approval.

JESUS' SURPRISING AND REVEALING CALL

5th Sunday of Ordinary Time | Luke 5:11

In Luke 5:1-11, Jesus calls Simon Peter to be one of his disciples.

Jesus asks Simon to sail into deeper water and cast his net. Despite initial doubts, Simon obeys and catches a large number of fish.

Amazed, Simon leaves his old life behind and follows Jesus, becoming a "fisher of men." This story shows Jesus' power and his call to people to follow him.

The Animators Ministry celebrated the Feast of Nuestra Señora De La Candelaria with joy, gratitude and a dash of groove.

Did you know that this beloved patroness of the Philippines and the Canary Islands is steeped in history and mystique? Legend has it that the Virgin Mary appeared to the indigenous people of the Canary Islands, holding a candle that symbolized hope, guidance, and light.

We honored this special feast day with delicious traditional food, exciting games, and a heartfelt prayer ceremony. It was a wonderful reminder that even in our fast-paced world, there's always time to come together, reflect, and celebrate our shared heritage!
