60 Years of Women Supporting Women...
Reaching Out with Gospel Values
In Communio with Vicki Schmidt
On Thursday, July 15th at 7:00 p.m. CDT join Vicki on a ZOOM call to share about the last 21 years with Theresians. This is the third in a series, and they have each been a wonderful gathering of Theresian sisters. We have shared so much over these 21 years.....lots of laughter, a few tears, miles and miles of traveling, and a tremendous amount of work! And we've done it all together. I've been thinking about Sr. Pat Burke, r.c. a lot lately, as she was a big part of my tenure as your ED. Pat was a significant mentor for me as I matured in my role as ED. I'll be forever grateful for her friendship and love.
The TI Board and the Search Team met this morning and we hope to break the news about the new Executive Director as soon as we can. We have some documents to complete with her before we make the big announcement. Just know it is imminent and we are so, so excited!

"There is a trick to a graceful exit. It begins with the vision to recognize when a job (ministry), a life stage, or a relationship is over - and let it go. It means leaving what's over without denying its validity or its past importance to our lives. It involves a sense of future, a belief that every exit line is an entry, that we are moving up, rather than out." Ellen Goodman
Although in a few months I will let go of serving as Executive Director of TI, I will not be letting go of being a Theresian sister as I always have been these last 21 years. I was sharing with someone yesterday that retiring from Theresians is much like a Provincial Superior of a religious order. We just step back and become a regular Thereisan sister again. That's the beauty of this transition, the roles shift but the sisters remain the same. I love that!
When we seriously started thinking about this transition in 2019, I felt confident then that the Holy Spirit had already tapped some beautiful soul out there to be our next ED. Our collective prayers brought her forth for us. Learning about her today has only confirmed that fact for me. We all owe our Search Team a huge debt of gratitude for the incredible work they have done for us. Please send up loving prayers on their behalf!
Thank You!

Prayer Requests
We offer our heartfelt prayer for those suffering from Covid-19 and its variants. We pray for doctors, nurses, nurses aids and all those who provide care. We pray for those who have lost loved ones to Covid-19. May they all remain safe and healthy throughout this pandemic.
--------------------------
From Stephanie Hebert of Open Heart Community in Lafayette, LA: Please keep in your prayers my granddaughter's husband, Ron Whitaker, who was apparently clearing spent fireworks and one (that had nor fired) exploded in his face. He has lost one eye, both jaws are broken, he has facial burns, but praise God, he is alive! He will need several reconstructive surgeries, the first will be Monday, July 12. Our granddaughter, Ali will also need prayers, as will their 3 year old Boone, as they go through this long time of recuperation. (Ron was at a family BBQ, and no one was close when this happened to know exactly what did occur. Ali was at home with Boone who had strep.)
Thank you so much for your prayers!
Bridget Hilbe of Spiritual Springs Community in Richmond, TX requests our fervent prayers for Kathy Ward , and her family, especially sons Hunter and Evan. Kathy's husband, Marc, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly (possible stroke) on Friday, July 9th. Kathy had recently completed treatment for breast cancer. This has been a very challenging time for her and her family. Kathy has an extremely strong faith and love for our Lord, she is a tremendous example for our community. Recently, Kathy discerned to be our community's team leader. She will so appreciate all prayers offered up on their behalf
Please remember Leisa Walker of Women of Spirit Community in Lake Charles, LA. Leisa was diagnosed with a debilitating disease called MSA, Multiple System Atrophy and she is now in hospice. Leisa and her community are grateful for our prayers. I (Vicki) spoke with her on 7/7, and assured her of our prayers for courage and peace.
Maribeth Anderson of Reflections Community in Fort Bend, TX requests prayer for Steve, 54, who is the the brother-in-law of Women InSpirit’s treasurer, Kelly Boyd. She and her sister, Shannon, are asking for prayers of hope and healing as Steve commences treatment for stage 4 cancer.
Vicki Dupre, a member of Journeywomen Community in Lake Charles, LA requests prayer for her cousins 3 month old granddaughter who is suffering from a brain virus that will probably leave her blind and deaf. Her name is Agnes and she was named after the Saint, the patron of little girls. Her disease is so rare that doctors from around the US are trying to help her. A miracle is needed, so please ask everyone to keep her in their prayers!
Barbara Hartmann of Anam Cara, Houston gives all praise and glory to our dear LORD. Daughter Emily's scan was clear of cancer!!!
As many of you know, the hardest part of any health journey is staying in present. Her next scan is August 3rd. Please pray:
"Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken." Psalm 55:22
