𝐏𝐀𝐗 𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐔𝐌

On the second day of Pax Tecum, the faithful gathered in prayerful reflection, continuing the journey of peace, reconciliation, and renewal in Christ. Ministry of Altar Servers roamed around Salvation, bringing the image of the Infant Jesus from house to house, spreading joy and devotion throughout the community. Through moments of silence, worship, and shared faith, hearts were gently drawn closer to God’s mercy and His abiding presence.

May this day deepen our openness to God’s grace, strengthen our faith, and lead us toward a more sincere encounter with the peace that only Christ can give.

Thursday of 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time | Gospel passage and Reflection

Luke 5:1-11

Simon’s initial reaction in today’s Gospel, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets,” qualifies him as Jesus’ true follower who will later be appointed leader of the apostles. Even with a partial recognition of Jesus’ identity, Simon the expert fisherman is humble enough to listen and act according to Jesus exhortation. He is not only rewarded with a spectacular catch of fish, but also a lifelong journey of friendship and discipleship of Jesus. As he grows in his understanding of the Master, Simon also grows in acknowledgement of his own sinfulness: “Depart from, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” Simon’s attitude of humility and contrition is necessary in our own journey of discipleship.

Wednesday of the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time | The Memorial of Saint Gregory The Great.

As we commemorate the memorial of Saint Gregory The Great let us draw inspiration from his exemplary life of service, compassion, and devotion to the Lord. Let us strive to emulate his virtues, particularly his commitment to charity, humility, and pastoral care. May Saint Gregory's legacy guide us in our own faith journeys, and may we become instruments of God's love and mercy in the world. Through his intercession, may we grow in wisdom, compassion, and dedication to serving others.

Luke 4:38-44

Reflection

Jesus shows his compassion and concern for Simon’s mother-in-law, who is ill with a high fever. Having healed her, he continues his ministry of preaching and healing, not only in the surrounding regions of Galilee, but even other cities. His ministry is reinforced and recharged by his personal communion with his father as he goes to spend time in a “lonely place”. In Jesus, we can find our comfort and succour, strength and courage live our Christian life in today’s competitive, busy and noisy world. He brings solace to our body, mind and spirit. He is the compassionate saviour who makes himself available in our weariness and weakness. We need to find the time and place for our personal communion with him. And, having experienced the joy of healing and freedom, we too, like Simon’s mother-in-law, need to engage ourselves in service.

Reflection

Jesus’ presence and his words carry an exceptional authority: it stems from his divinity as the Son of God. Even the demons recognize and tremble at his authority. But he uses his authority not for name, fame or popularity, nor for oppressing or ruling over others. For Jesus, authority is for service and liberation. He uses his authority to liberate people from their sinful attachments and evil possessions; to bring back the oppressed to the freedom and joy of the children of God. Jesus’ own life is a model for all those entrusted with authority of various degrees, both in civil and religious spheres.

Good Afternoon our dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

Today is the Memorial of the Passion of Saint John the Baptist.

As we commemorate the passion of Saint John the Baptist let us reflect on his courageous stand for truth and righteousness, and may we be inspired to live out our own faith with similar conviction and devotion, even in the face of adversity.
